Alrite guys, I really dont know what the hell is going on.. and I really need some
advice.. I've offically Shedded for 2 months straight.. about 60-80 hair in the tub
everytime I shower. I know we are suppose to have sheds from the finasteride, but since
started lately my face has gotten extremely oily, I have to wash my face 4-5 times a
day just to keep from breaking out. Also I've noticed that my hair also gets
just as oily and is extremely irritated from all the oil. I've had to drop
folligen.. cause it makes my scalp even more irritated after its on over nite and I
wash it the next morning.

As for my hair when it sheds i rarely ever see the bulb, all of them are missing the bulb i'm not sure if that
means something bad.. as for the appearance of my hair it looks like i've lost over 25% of my hair since starting on finasteride
in feburary. My sex drive comes and goes like a roller coaster..(i know thats normal).

Has anyone experienced the same thing? or something simliar? and has anyone actually recovered from prolonged finasteride sheds.. like 2-3 months?
cause this is really scaring me.

hey,
I've only been on a constant shed for roughly a month. Sheds can last awhile, just wait it out. With the oily thing, I have noticed that head and shoulders dries my hair out perfect for how oily it gets.

I haven't noticed any oil change on my face however I've always been more naturally oily. DOn't over wash your face, use a Astrigent that contains salylic acid. Burns off pretty much oil and dead skin off your face.

Good luck

But i mean is it normal for all the hair that you shed to have no Bulb at the end? i've read everywhere and nothing provides a solid answer.. so has anyone experienced this "no-bulb" shed and recovered? or never recovered?

also does this exccessive oil and irritation mean taht my body's just over producing test inresponse to the dht inhibiting finasteride?

get on nizoral shampoo 3x a week. this should control any irritation you have. good scalp health is essential to combat the balding process.

i shed at about month 1 for a month and it grew back thicker. im at 5 1/2 months now and have been shedding for longer than a month. im hoping itll grow back. hold tight. your finasteride shouldnt start kicking in anyway till about month 4-8 or something. it takes time for finasteride to build up in your bloodstream and longer for hair to grow so its noticeable above the scalp.

sit tight, dont analyse it too much - its too early to tell for you. have faith in the 83% number - the number of men who will have an increased haircount from finasteride or no loss from baseline.
