Hello,

I am 24 and I feel like my receding hairline is getting worse. I am looking to start treatment. I have heard about products and supplements that are supposed to help, such as Minoxidil, Finasteride, Saw Palmetto, Nettle Root, Beta-Sistosteral, Biotin, Castor Oil, Fish Oil, Vitamins, DHT Blocking Shampoo's, Hairomega, etc.

I would like to avoid Finasteride because of the sides if possible.

Thanks,
Tom

The best starting regimen is known as the big 3. Which is finasterade, minoxidil and nizoral shampoo. The *Start here* tab above includes a good introduction to choosing a regimen.

thank you. so everything else is useless? or just not as effective?

Getting better sleep, eating right, and exercise should be part of your regimen. These things help to fight stress and inflammation which is bad for your hair. Omega 3 is anti inflammatory, so that's a good supp to take

if you're going to take propecia, don't take saw palmetto or beta sis. Might be a serious libido killer. Never took Propecia, but saw palmetto gave me low libido, post urinary drip, and my sideburns stopped growing, until I stopped taking them. If you get sides from anything, stop.

just finasteride will work, add minoxidil if u want max regrowth possible but it wont help prevent future loss, and nizoral 1% or 2% shampoo twice weekly

all that natural stuff is somewhere between useless and almost useless

If you are going to take something to fight DHT, try propecia. If you get sides, lower your dose by cutting the pill Iin half or in quarters. if you keep getting sides, discontinue it. If you have erectile dysfunction right now, just don't bother with any DHT blocker.

Yes, propecia can **** with your hormones, but so can saw palmetto. Saw palmetto did **** with my hormones since it stopped my sideburns and facial hair from growing and it made me fat, along with ED.

anyway, everyone is different. What happened to me may not happen to you.

Along with your exercise, have a good diet, and sleep well. These things are just good for overall health and anti-aging and will be beneficial for your scalp and hair. It may not regrow it, but it could help to slow it down and get your meds to work better.
