Hello guys

I'm 23.5, been balding for nearly two years now. I am NW2 with diffuse frontal area, that is getting noticable (i lost about 25-30% of my hair) in all the frontal area.

I am taking Saw palmetto + Beta-Sis+green tea for almost 8 months now
LLLT X5 laser for about 7 months
Biotin + MSM + Vitamins for about a year
Grape Fruit seed extract Topically and internally.

I cant really say what its really done. Some days my hair looks good and i cant lie to myself and say i have no hairloss. Other days, it bad. There are days i shed 20 hairs and days i want to cry...

I'v been surfing forums and reading articles for the past year and slowly everything starts coming together..

I started taking Propecia 1mg EOD since 2 weeks ago. No major sides - only reduce in semen (why is that?) Lately tons of small hair on my pillow - never before.

I also started Taking L-Lysine 500mg twice a day, cuz iv been told it works well with propecia and its dirt cheap. Also use Nizoral once a week since about a month.

I need advise and i have questions for all you experts out there...

LLLT - i feel LLLT only dries my hair out and making it look dull. why is that? at some point in my regimen i had nice regrowth for about 2 months and then everything was reversed to the starting point.
Emu Oil - i heard only good comments about this product. Anyone uses this? and how?
Propecia - big difference in EOD or Daily? do i need to take it with aromatase inhibitors?(plz explain why)

The role of estrogen/Testosterone in male pattern baldness - now thats where it gets tricky. I believe the frontal area is more sensitive to test? is this a myth? i feel that i only worsen things since starting on this regimen!!! i was really paranoid and started to treat when i had about 90% of my hair, since my treatment i been only losing density man... my crown maybe got filled in... i have about 95% of my hair @ the crown.

*EDIT - read also my first reply

Please, help me figure this out y'all

Also, if propecia increases test levels and decreases DHT, do i need to stop overproduction of test because it transforms into estrogen which in turn produce estradiol and attack the follicles?

Also i forgot to mention another important thing:
I am losing A LOT of hairs in my chest and back of my hair (they are growing back) but when i wake up in the morning and i rub my chest no less than 40 hairs come off

thanks for the help guys

Hmm, that is odd, maybe it would be worth having a blood test to see your level of testosterone. I believe that plant lignans such as SDG or HMR lignans will lower it naturally, while something like ashwagandha will lift it, so it really depends what is happening here as to what internal route is best to take.

You could always try adding some of the topical treatments I have been looking at: Crinagen, Regenepure DR and maybe Dr Lee's spironolactone :)

That should kill the loss dead, as it will lower DHT hugely and also lower testosterone up there a bit too and bind the receptors!

Just a thought though, might be worth getting that blood test first (just check "sex hormones" - DHT, T, E, free T etc) :)

hmm so you have been taking a bunch of unproven crap for 8 months and now you are surprised it did not work?

quit wasting your money and just limit your regiment to propecia and minoxidil, two products that are actually proven to work. :)

Thanks guys...

Is there a big impact between taking Propecia daily and EOD? (1mg)

Also, what side effects can i expect? other than sex related ones..
Like for instance reduced beard hair? can it make my face oily? and stuff like that? can it reduce my muscle count?

I like my body/face just as they are...

Thanks

I think the reason you've continued to lose is because you've been using a crap regimen.

You're on finasteride now. This is the most effective and practical overall treatment. You'll need to give it time.

I'd say that of those who experience sides, 90% get them regardless of whether they do EOD, lower the dose, etc. You very rarely see people say "I had a limp dick before, but now I take finasteride just every other day I'm fine!" So if I were you I wouldn't be afraid of taking the normal dose like everybody else. If you don't have sides, you're in the majority, and you're in a good way for treatment.

Besides finasteride, most other internals are either even more side-effect prone, or not very effective.

There are stacks of topicals you could look at, which might offer a slight benefit.

I'm not sold on laser therapy. The laser 'helmets' might have some benefit, but I think it's overhyped, and anyway it forces you to sit with a space-age helmet on your head for 15 mins everyday. The laser comb I believe is of negligible benefit.

All the estrogen stuff is, in my view, complete nonsense. If you want to go the herbal route, calming down general inflammation (through diet, antioxidants, herbs, yada yada), might offer a marginal benefit, but nothing significant for most.
