NEED ADVICE ON REGIMEN - *PICS*

26...started losing it at 24 after I was on some medicine with hair loss as a side effect. No real crown loss, just temporal recession and a general receding hairline.

I don't really have a "regimen," I just use a thickening conditioner and try to keep it as long in front as I can. The odd thing is I have very little male pattern baldness in my family history on either side. A few great uncles on my dad's side, but none in grandparents or parents, and certainly nothing at my young age.

I used Nizoral to combat the dandruff associated with the first shed of my life, when I finally got off the meds the dandruff stopped but the shedding continues. I bought some revivogen last month. I'm only 6 weeks into it, and have shed where I apply it. I don't know if that's a good sign or if my hair line recession is just continuing as normal. Derm told me he doesn't think I'm going bald but prescribed me Propecia anyway.

Let me know what you think. What Norwood am I?

by the way, the first pic was taken in jan-feb before i started revivogen..the others were taken today. i think that may show a little of the hairline change since then.

yeah it begins. now is the best time to get on a good regimen consisting of proven treatments, if you want the best chance for keeping your hair.

you should look into a generic version of propecia, called proscar or fincar or something similar. will save you lots of cash.

if you want regrowth, i suggest using rogaine foam. it seems to be working for quite a few people here on frontal hair growth.

be healthy

There's also a strong chance it's just a mature hairline. Without before pics, I can barely even notice any recession.

Man, I hope so...I'm banking on my family history...my hair line is about where my dad's is. Then again, there have been bald men in my family at some point and the gene could have reared its ugly head for me. Any opinion what Norwood I am?

its unlikely it will stop anytime soon so don't bank on it. there is alot of miniaturization going on still, and the hair line is uneven which is a good indicator that it's still receding back.

i'd say start treating it now

Uneven hair lines don't mean a thing. Plenty of hairy bastards have dents and irregularities.

You'd know better than us if your losing it. Have you noticed your hair line moving back? Looks pretty good to me...

I see lots of weak and thin hairs near his temple region. This is not a good sign. I bet at one point and time they used to be thick and healthy.

Start treatments now.

Yes, it's moved back all the way around (from right temple to left temple and all across the middle) probably about a 1/2 inch in the past 2 years. My temples are bald compared to what they used to be.

You're right...every day I wake up my hair feels like absolute $hi# until I condition it.

What treatments do you recommend?

Does anyone think i should keep on the Revivogen?

Would anyone else mind commenting on what they think?

I have a finasteride script but a few things scare me - money, side effects, and what some people on here have said about losing more on their hairline, which is my problem area anyways....

Order your finasteride from inhousepharmacy.com Buy proscar and split it into 5ths. finasteride can be very cheap if you know what you are doing. Try some Nizoral shampoo. You can get it in the medical shampoo section of wal-mart.

Those two things should be your treatment. I guarantee if you take finasteride daily and use nizoral shampoo that your hairloss will halt.

Your treatments should not cost you more than 20 dollars a month.

You probably wont reach a Norwood 7 for another 30-40 years, but it looks like the male pattern baldness process is beginning. Most men lose some hair whether its a mature hairline or not. The process of hairloss effects like 90 percent of men since I consider a mature hairline part of male pattern baldness since both involve miniaturization. You have some hairloss, but with current treatments theres not much to do unless you wanna alter your hormones for 20 years in case your going bald. Im in the same boat ive decided to just sit around and wait. I also tried revivogen and it also did jack crap for me. I only used it on the temples where the hair alread miniaturized but it didnt do anything that I could see.

Its a very tough choice at that age and with that degree of hairloss. Many consider it a mature hairline meaning its miniaturized hair, but for some reason made up by doctors its not really male pattern baldness yet. If you came on here and post pictures of it and it bothers you then if you can afford it try propecia. It will make you feel better and thats all that matters. My dermatologist said he had lots of guys on it and its a very safe drug. He didnt even mention gyno to me because obviously he has not seen it seeing as how its a very very minute chance. These forums do blow side effects way out of proportion. Propecia is about the only chance you have in my opinion.

I checked out inhousepharmacy.com, and also saw another post about how to split the tablets. Have you ordered from this site before? The page looks less-than-professional, and I notice its a UK site. If you or anyone else can vouch for it, then that's cool with me.

Ive been thinking of buying propecia and taking .25mg. Its still very effective, but I dont think my DHT levels are really that high considering I have lots of hair and very little body hair. I do not fit the description of someone with male pattern baldness, but I suspect my sebaceous glands in my hair are very sensitive to the androgens I do have is the only thing I can come up with. My head itches all the time and I have seb derm like flakes that arent really dandruff.I think DHT is the problem. Propecia is probably worth a try if you can afford it and taking a low dose like .5mg to save money is better then nothing.
