Made an appointment , sat down with one of there employees , they recommended Xstrands, I was super interested until she told me what Shampoo, Rogaine and a scale cleaner plus the Xstrands were going to cost me , also they were tossing in a Lazer Comb , 3100.00 dollars, been doing some reading and get a lot of mixed reviews on Hairclub , looking for some legit advice , also if it is to stay away from them I would like to start some kind of program to try and fill in my crown area, there is still Hair in the area its just thinning , I can take some pictures tonight and post some .. but deff trying to find which way to go to try and re grow some hair , 3100 sounded pretty steap for what I was getting .

Thanks guys
Daniel

Stay away from such places. Go to a legit hospital which has a dermatologist and seek his advice. Probably he would be able to recommend an honest hair transplant surgeon too. From what I understand, there aren't any success stories on using the laser comb alone.

If you're sick of all the fake stuff focus on what's fda approved for right now cause that's all we really got.

Stay away from any kind of hair "restoration/specialist" businesses. They're all literally scam artists who'll give you propecia, minoxidil and saw palmetto for an extortionate amount like the one they quoted you. They take advantage of the average man knowing nothing about hair loss and the free consultation is merely bait. Also laser therapy is questionable and that's being generous to be honest. What you're on now with propecia would be your best bet.

Ya besides surgery, the options that work are two: 1. minoxidil (rogaine/generic), 2. finasteride (propecia/generic). and those can be gotten much much more cheaply by simply visiting a dermatologist and getting a prescription. i wouldnt waste too much time thinking about shampoos and multivitamins.

so only real way to fill in the crown would be a legit hair transplant? im gonna get back on Nioxin , rogaine, and make an appointment with a dermatologist

besides a hair transplant your only hope is finasteride+minoxidil. depends if you have hair on your bald spot or its just slick bald. If you have hair (even if thin) on your bald spot then you will be able to fill it in with finasteride/minoxidil alone.

I bet its one of those lasers that has a 100% guarantee to give you a full head of hair in 2 weeks.

I have been doing Xstrands for 6 months now. I also use the laser helmet 3 times a week along with washing my hair with their EXT treatment.
They looked at my head and saw the hairs were getting small because it was being clogged from the excess amount of DHT.
The products are slowly cleaning away the DHT oil build up and my hairs are actually getting bigger.
The Xstrands took two hours to add and fill in my thinning area, It definitely help fill in the balding spot.
every month I go in and get 2 hours of hair added to keep up with the xstrands growing out.
The products and laser treatment are working well and I think in another 6 months I may not need to do the xstrands, just the treatment and laser. Very happy!

LMAO here - thx guys!

As far as slowly cleaning away DHT oil build up, I have a question about the process since it's been brought up - wouldn't those strands or plugs they put on clog existing hairs? How do you clean your scalp with a rug like thing pasted on for a month?
