Need Advice About Going back on Propecia

Hello there,

I'd like to get advice about going back on Propecia. I went off it in May of this year for financial reasons, after having been on it for about 3 years. I found it effective at maintaining what was there. Recently, I feel that my hair loss may have accelerated somewhat, and I am thinking about going back on Propecia (things have also picked up financially, thankfully!). My doctor told me that once you go off Propecia there's no point in going back on it, but is there any truth to that ? Anybody here had a positive experience with returning to Propecia after a 6+ month hiatus ?

Thanks,
E.

I dont think youre doctor is right, then again im not a doctor
I see it like this... If you were once depressed and on anti-depresents and they worked, then u stopped only to become depressed again half a year later, Why would the anti-depressents or any other meds for that matter not work again
There is probably way more chemistry behind this as propecia and anti-d's are very different in their actions, that is my opnion.

Hair lOss talk could definetly help you out with this one.. he has lots of knowledge and experience with propecia

Yeah, I don't think your doctor is right...

IIRC, HairLossTalk.com or someone posted a study where people who were off finasteride for a year went back on and gained back what they'd lost during that period.
