Need Adice -Adding dutasteride a few Times/Week to Propecia Regiment

Just thought I'd drop in and say that I'm also considering a hybrid of finasteride and dutas. I'd rather just use the Dutas, but, like others here, I can't be sure of the quality of what I'm getting, so it's gonna have to be a combo of both :/

Well then your gonna have to go to your Doctor to get he finas...otherwise whats the point?

Just makin sure....why dont you just take the Avodart 3x a week...that shouldnt be too expensive.

What dutasteride regiment is just as or more effective than the standard finasteride regiment?

If im taking 1mg finasteride/day, will .5mg dutasteride every other day be the same? will it be better? whats the formula?

Im thinking of adding .5 dutasteride on sundays only ... hoping that wiull give me a little bump in DHT blocking (at least enough to help the finasteride the other 6 days) ...

that or taking dutasteride on sun and wed, finasteride on the other days ...

any advice?

Do you guys even realize that if you're taking dutasteride 2-3 times a week, then you have absolutely no need to take finasteride? 1 dutasteride capsule every 5 days is roughly the equivalent of 5mg of finasteride per day. You're just giving your liver unnecessary work to do.

Beaner - that's what I heard too. But after taking dutasteride 2x weekly and finasteride 2x weekly - I went from a NW5a whose rear bald spot had previously filled in - back to a 5a w/ balspot after approx 2 - 3 months.

So in my instance - the dutasteride 2x weekly wasn't nearly enough.

i don't buy it hair transplant. don't buy that at all. finasteride provided no extra benefits to him if he really was taking real dutasteride twice a week. it didn't.

taking dutasteride 2x (.5mg 2x a week) would be better (slightly) than 5mg of finasteride everyday...as far as DHT inhibition is concerned.

.5 mg 7x a week of dutasteride = 98% dht inhibition
.3 mg 3x a week of dutasteride = ~ 95 % dht inhibition
5mg 7x a week of finasteride = 90% dht inhibition
1mg 7x a week of finasteride = 85% dht inhibition.

id never call him a liar, he's a good guy. i just think he might be mistaken that he experienced additional hair regrowth benefits from taking finasteride along with dutasteride twice a week. maybe it was just a weird hair cycle or delayed growth or something

dutasteride would be a no brainer.

i am seeing some temple regrowth on finasteride (1mg 7x week) in the temples, and a little on the crown, but it seems that the overall thinning of the top 5th of my scalp (if that makes any sense... from the fron tto the back, all over) is still thinning and at a rate higher than the crown

plus, the few new, long hairs that have popped up in the temple area are at the very edge of my old hairline. so i have a few new, long hairs on the fringe (hairline from 6 years ago) then a bald "triangle" - my new temple area ... then my hair ...

would dutasteride show more regrowthg if i switch and what would be a good reg for me? .5 3x week?

so taking 1 dutasteride pill every 5 days is roughly equal to taking 1mg of finasteride everyday for 5 days.

Sorry boys - I missed these original posts from the 2 of you.

Actually it was the opposite.

Here's what happened: I was on 1 mg fincar 7 x weekly and doing well.

I switched to dutasteride 2x weekly and finasteride 2 x weekly (after reading about how great dutasteride was and how much stronger than finasteride it was and you know what everyone was writing about dutasteride and finasteride) . . .

and after making the switch, I lost some serious groundage.

I'm getting duprost and fincar from inhouse - so I assume they're both legit.

Does that clear things up?

You must be getting Dutas from Inhouse, they don't sell Duprost. Some of the dutasteride generics are a bit dodgy IMHO. Remember all those posts about Veltride?
