Hi. I'm 18, i boy. My hair started to fall out when I was 14 years old, after I grew my hair long (it was the longest hair I had ever grown at that time). Tried different shampoos, did not help. When I was 17 I tried Rinfoltil (I don't know if you know this remedy or not). Didn't help. Half a year after my 18th birthday I started taking finasteride 5 mg 1/4. I didn't take it evenly, I was taking 0.5-1.7 mg. In the morning, every day. It's been 3 months, I guess the results are there, or so it seems. 5-25% less hair loss. Maybe I just started washing my hair every day and it's washing out. I don't know.
I'm writing here because something tells me I need a different remedy. Finasteride has side effects. I mean, erections. Need a drug that has minimal side effects and works as well as finasteride. I guess to have fewer side effects, you need a topical remedy. I don't know. Maybe another anti-androgen, or something else like estrogen, estradiol? It's not an anti-androgen, is it? Can you elaborate on the other remedies, please.
Why don't I use minoxidil?
Because it is uncomfortable to apply. (It takes a long time for my head to dry).
2. I have to apply it twice a day.
3. Over time, the dependence on it will stop helping.
4. Synchronization.

I am now at a 1-1.5 degree Norwood.
My hair is a little less hairy now.
Thank you in advance.

Thank you for sharing your story. What caught my eye was your reasons for not using minoxidil. I'm a stylist and get it. It also doesn't work for everyone, unfortunately. I recently made a shampoo at home that is promoting hair growth. So if I can accidentally make hair grow, what happens if I try?! In my trials at the salon, I tell clients to shampoo as normal. I want to keep this a simple process, not complicated. Right now my husband is my guinea pig. He did get new growth with my first shampoo. My new formula he has only been using for 2 weeks. Seeing signs of scalp stimulation. So I'm encouraged. I post on Instagram @TheReliefDepot. I will follow your progress and pray for your journey.
