Look at this poor soul.

http://www.regrowth.com/hairloss-forums ... =1&t=15716

He thinks that if he consumes mega doses of herbs and vitimans that his hair will regrowth. /sarcasm, I know this is shocking, but his natural route isn't stopping his male pattern baldness.

The ignorance is painful to read. Later down in the thread, he is told that his hair needs more DHT, and his hair is falling out because there is an inbalance of hormones due to lack of DHT. He believes this and freaks out.

I ask naturalists, if DHT isn't the cause, aka its a lack of vitimans, then why aren't malnurished women in africa completely bald? Here is his crazy regimen. I wish these naturalists would please stop. I make this thread to expose the sillyness of it all. People need to deal with the cold hard reality, and pretending that taking herbs and vitimans will cure male pattern baldness is only going to make things worse in the long run. I hope some newbie reads this, realizes how hilarious it is that this guy thinks he needs more DHT on his scalp, and decides to give up the vitiman route.

Edit: I found another gem were he thinks minoxidil casues facial bloating and gyno. His weird phobias against drugs are mixed up and he thinks minoxidil sides are the same as reported propecia sides. Is he orally ingesting his monixidil? LOL

He says: "I do take lots of vitamins to boost my immune system, and lately have been thinking that this may be increasing my immune system so much that the "immune system attacking hair follicle theory" is actually my main problem."

Did he not say that the he may be boosting his immune system so much that in turn it may be attacking him? That's how it comes across to me.

He could be over doing it.

If he focussed on detoxing his colon and liver FIRST, that would provide a good foundation to build upon as he may not be assimilating any of the vitamins and minerals in which he is ingesting for reasons of pre-existing toxicity thus this negates any proposed benefits of his regimen.

/sarcasm I once heard of this guy that took so many vitimans that his immune system grew incredibly fast, went balistic, and killed the guy. His white blood cells just ate him up. All that was left was dust.

The moral of the story? A weak immune system is a must for healthy hair.

My Discovery!

Happy New Year everyone!
Want to share about something which has happened to me recenctly.

About 5 weeks ago, I needed to get some minor sugery done (a circumcision) which has prevented me from masturbating etc ever since while it is healing.

Anyway, prior to having that done, my scalp was constantly itchy and inflamed and I have been losing hair like nothing for years...the sink gets plugged and running my fingers through my hair typically pulls out numerous strands.

I am not on finesteride, but use nizoral, a little minoxidil on the hairline and take copious supplements including Hogans oils etc.

Anyay, in less than a week after my surgery, I noticed my scalp felt soothed and calm...my hair stopped falling and my shower plug was noticably clear.

Then, a week or two more later and it just kept getting better to the point where I am struggling to pull out hairs now!

I know so many say that masturbation/sex has nothing to do with hairloss, but I have no other way to explain my experience yet to say that it does.

I have not masturbated for weeks and I know it is very difficult not to, but maybe just occasionally doing so would keep my hair in tact...before the sugery I was fairly compulsive at doing it.

Anyway, thats my discovery Cheers!

lol it cant be the minoxidil 5% it has to be the masturbation !!! :hairy: [/quote]

some people don't understand that a chemical compound is just that, regardless if it comes from a test tube, or a living organism

evil drug companies like Merck and Glaxo make Propecia and Avodart. Thank god there are companies like Pfizer to make good natural products like Rogaine.

What if he retained his jizz by jizzing in a cup and eating it? Would that cure male pattern baldness too?

HAHA. I guess that would be me. Jeez WorldofWarcraft, for someone who bashes the "Naturalists" you sure must spend a lot of time on Regrowth.com digging up old threads and posts. I actually felt pretty important when I heard my threads were being posted on another forum. Thanks! I mean... to actually look back and find a number of my threads including my post stating my bad minoxidil experience in which I ended up with a puffy face and "Gyno". HAHA even though I never mentioned gyno from minoxidil.

But for the rest of you guys, just so you know I don't take all of these vitamins for hair loss. I'm a bodybuilder and use these supplements listed to enhance strength, body composition, health and well-being. Obviously none of the supplements I've listed there are for hair loss. The hair loss supplements I used for the past 3 months were Immortal's Top 6. Figured I'd give it a try before I began using Propecia.

As for minoxidil, I did use minoxidil for a little over 2 months. I noticed a huge decrease in shedding towards the end. But unfortunately did end up with a puffy face and chest pains.

Criticize my results with minoxidil all you want. But it's actually proven that topical minoxidil can be heavily absorbed into the blood in some people, and minoxidil can cause water retention, chest pains etc etc. when it is overly absorbed into the body.

But anyway, thank you for your gernerous concern WarofWorldcraft :)

minoxidil causes water retention with a lot of people, especially in the face. it did with me, and it also gave me abnormally high blood pressure.

in my opinion, ignorance can take shape in a variety of forms. lots of "naturalists" (aka dirty hippies) love to drone on and on about the evils of drug companies and how all modern medicine is poison. a lot of the stuff they say might have merit, and a lot of it is probably total crap. then there are people who think that naturalists and herbalists are quacks, and that only modern western medicine has any merit. again, they may have great points, but this also strikes me as highly flawed and just as ignorant as the dirty hippy selling snake oils to cure your ails.

it all comes down to the philosophy (a simple one at that) that extremism blows, and blows hard. it does in politics, religion, health, your diet, your relationships, just about everything.

I'm pretty sure it didn't give you high blood pressure because it was originally used to treat high blood pressure. They found out hair growth was a side effect and Boom! Suddenly it is marketed as rogaine

That was after the phase III trials of course.

I have always thought about the effect of an overly strong immune system on hairloss. It would be interesting to study people with HIV and hair loss. If this were true then they would have less hair loss because the weakened immune system should "theoretically" have less effect on the hair.

It's weird, but it did. My measurements plummeted after discontinuing the xandrox. My only thinking is that some mechanism in my system countered the drop in blood pressure, but to a dangerous extent. Either way, my body just didn't agree with the minoxidil.

No...

Elaborate because I don't believe that.

A strong immune system is what everyone needs. A strong immune system would be void of any deficiency or over compensation.

There are two potential problems that arise when concerned with the immune system and they are, immunodeficiency (weak, under active) and autoimmune disease (overactive immune system attacking healthy organisms).

Hair loss, could be a result of either.

I get what you're saying but DHT should in all cases be the result of some underlying inflammation. Inflammation as you would know is a clear sign of an immune system problem.

Continued inflammation (not necessarily chronic) is something that most sufferers of male pattern baldness experience in the scalp. Why is this?

My understanding is that our white blood cells (I think they are called Neutrophils; can't remember?) may not be functioning correctly as these are the cells responsible in the healing process against inflammation.

Antioxidants, especially those with deeper cellular penetrating capabilities can be very beneficial if you consider the likely hood that a portion of someones regimental success can be wagered on their cellular communication and ability to defend against oxidative stress.

However I have a question for you, in comparison to a malnourished Woman in Africa (as you mentioned), how much oxidative stress and cellular damage would they have compared to another Woman and or Man living in a civilized Western Country?

Despite their lack of food, I think we get hammered worse and from all angles when it concerns toxicity.

We have all the right kinds of foods, yet we largely choose to eat poorly.

We live in an ever growing field of EMF and radiation fueled by watching our television sets for far to long whilst walking around talking on our mobile phones or cordless handsets power at 3 to 5ghz at home pummeling the sides of our heads with outrageous frequencies whilst leaving our wireless broadband modems on 24/7 when we sleep in bedrooms close to uninsulated power lines running through cavities in our thin plasterboard walls situated in ever cramped neighborhoods close to main streets with large power polls and power breakers to boot.

We live in over populated cities (in some cases) with far to many cars equating to ghastly amounts of pollution that we breath in, out, in out, daily and yet think nothing of it.

Not to mention we indulge in the excesses of life including alcohol and drugs both prescribed and illicit.

But wait theres more because we rub fancy skin lotions, spray deodorants and colognes some of which containing heavy metals, we wash with harsh chemicals to clean whilst it seeps into our bodies through the largest organ of all, the skin.

We have people over exercising and others not exercising at all (sedentary lifestyles), we have emotional stress including money, bills and materialistic wants to name but a few.

I don't discredit that they may be exposed to similar problems, but I'd have to say far less than us.

And should you not be comparing apples with apples (Men with Men)?

<loop> my above post. </loop>

You still need a genetic pre-disposition to hair loss in order for it to occur.
