Nano shampoo + Folligen

Would it be pointless to add Nano shampoo if I'm already using Folligen? I'm using folligen lotion on my hairline/temples only btw.

And I'm also using nizoral as a shampoo so would adding Nano to my regimen be overkill?

thanks!

I guess the next question would be if any knows of a cheap place to get it that ships to Canada.

Why would it be "pointless"? Folligen doesn't contain NANO.

NANO shampoo and Nizoral shampoo work in completely different ways, so I would imagine that they'd complement each other very nicely.

how's the folligen lotion working for you,how fast it absorbs and feels overall?

I've been using the lotion for about a month and a half now so I can't say if it's working or not. But in terms of application, well it was super itchy the first few times using it. I never scratched it but it still left a red mark on the areas I applied it to (shaved my head a few weeks ago so it was really noticeable). You also may have heard about the green residue it leaves (on your head and your pillows) and it's odor right after you apply it.

In terms of application, I would say that it's worse than minoxidil but at least you don't have to apply it twice a day... 3-4 times a week is enough.

I figured that since Nano contains copper peptides then there's no point using Folligen... But it looks like copper peptides is at the very bottom of the list of ingredients so the amount may be negligible.

But Nano does have the Nanos, SODs and whatnotso you're right then, it shouldn't interfere with Folligen. I guess I was really asking the reverse, ie whether it would be pointless to use Folligen if I were to use Nano. Does Nano Shampoo contain a good amount of Copper peptides so I can drop Folligen? (probably not, but just making sure then)

And about the nizoral, I was also wondering about whether using those two shampoos at the same time would be damaging to the hair/scalp overtime.

I'm not even completely sure that it's copper peptides that Dr. Proctor puts in NANO Shampoo. On my own bottle of NANO Shampoo, he merely specifies "SODases", which could be any of a number of different substances that have SOD activity. I know he fiddles with the formulations of these products and even the bottle labeling from time to time, so I don't think we can be sure what he's currently using.

But in any event, I do agree with the general thrust of what you're saying. He once said years ago on alt.baldspot that he "throws in" a SOD (of some sort) into NANO Shampoo, so it does sound like it's probably a relatively minor ingredient. I think NANO is the main ingredient of NANO Shampoo! :)

I agree with you: probably not (see previous statement above).

I would suggest NOT using those two shampoos at the same time. Use them separately, like one of them on one day, the other on the next day. Alternate between them, in other words. Have another cheap, non-medicated, "ordinary" shampoo as a third member of the rotation.

well it looks like you've answered my questions so I'll be looking to purchase Nano shortly. Thanks for the help!

One thing I've always been curious about when using these medicated shampoos like Nizoral and Nano is applying topicals immediately after shampooing with them in order to get the benefits of applying to a hydrated scalp (that was a long sentence!)

Would using a topical right after the shampoo--after towel drying of course--negate the medicinal properties of the shampoo in anyway?

In answer to the issue of copper peptides in NANO shampoo

1) Yes they are SOD's and yes, we still use them. And yes, SODs seem to have real efficacy in the treatment of hair loss and likely do things that other agents do not. E.g., they reverse fibrosis, the terminal event in the balding process.

2) These days, our favorite SODs are the nitroxide spin-labels TEMPO and TEMPOL. TEMPOL (which we have patents on ) is currently in clinical trials for prevention of hair loss in radiation therapy. See http://www.mitos.com

I guess I'll used up the rest of my old version AC spray on my top center and vertex and thinning sides. Maybe it will reverse fibrosis. Pretty pleasant to apply.

Forgot to mention. We hold the primary patents for the use of copper peptides, SOD's etc. for the treatment of hair loss. In our experience, some do work a lot better than others.

Some cites on the prevention and reversal of fibrosis using SOD's. "Fibrosis" (scarring) is the terminal event in balding. Use keywords "SOD" and "fibrosis" on Google for more:
