Mystery of the Red Stripe

I was looking through generic Finasteride options, and just noticed this really strange red stripe on the left of all packages...

I would consider this a design element if it was on the packages of one company, but strangely it appears even on different companies packages.

Take a look - Dr.Reddy's, Cipla, INTAS, Samarth Pharma - they all have it.. They not only appear on the boxes, but on the pill strips as well.

This got to be a marking of some kind. I once read on another forum one guy ordered finasteride, he got a box without red stripe, ordered again - exactly the same box but WITH the stripe.
Ok, I may sound super stupidly paranoid now, but could this be a tricky way of marking fake medicines? :sulkoff:

Yep, those red stripes are definitely alien way of marking mind control medicines..

Actually I think I just found out that those stripes actually mean something, some info from Wikipedia:

Red Stripe Medicines - These medicines are sold only with medical prescription. Antibiotics, Anti allergenics, Anti inflammatories, and other medicines. In Brazil, governmental control is loose on this type; it is not uncommon to buy this type of prescription medicine over the counter without a prescription.

However, it's quite strange, because "stripe marking" is a Brazil regulation, I wonder why online pharmacies sell these drugs (made in India btw) to clients in US and Europe...
