Hi all,

Last week i had good news. My wife is pregnant.

I use (finasteride 1mg) for 5 years.

Now I'm afraid about stop or not the finasteride for the next months.

My wife never touch my pills. But I read something about a small concentration of finasteride in the sperm.

Should I stop using finasteride or start using condoms ??

Thanks.

Congratulations.... Better safe than sorry so start using condoms.... I reduced my usage when I was in the same situation. However, I'm not an expert so its worth getting some advice from a doctor/expert....

um... if she's already pregnant then it's too late if you're worried about finasteride being transmitted through semen

in any case I don't know of any reported case where a baby has been born with birth defects because the father was taking Finasteride when it was concieved, so don't fret.

If you're concerned speak to your doctor, let them know you've been taking finasteride, and make sure they monitor the baby's development to look out for any signs of potential problems.

And yes make sure that your wife doesn't come into contact with the pills. Just wash your hands after handling them.

How about you take your pills to work and consume them there.
On the weekends you could have them in the shed or something.

The trace amounts of finasteride in semen are so miniscule that it won't bother the baby. The tests that were done were done on monkeys that were pregnant. They were given (if I recall correctly) about 30mg or more of finasteride every day, and SOME of the male babies had birth defects. None of the mothers who had 1mg of finasteride every day had any birth defects. But, the fact that an excess of finasteride can cause them means they go on the package.

Someone have had a baby boy and not stop the (finasteride 1mg) treatment ??

Someone have had a baby boy and not stoped the (finasteride 1mg) treatment during the pregnancy ??

I'm worry about the contact between the semen and between the uterus.

I know it's a very small quantity of finasteride inside the semen but I'm having a baby.

Thanks!

There is a small quantity of finasteride on the sperm.
That's why I asked if someone have had a baby boy and not stopped finasteride.
