Hello all,

I plan on taking the following for my receding hairline:

Nizoral Shampoo
Saw Palmetto & Beta-Sistosteral
Minoxidil 5%
Multi-Vitamins
Fish Oil
Biotin
Castor Oil

I know this list is mostly natural treatment, but I have heard others use it with good results. Wanted to give it a shot before going to Procepia. Is there anything else I should add to this treatment? Some people sware by Nettle root as well, along with Pumpkin oil. Not sure if these are necessary with Saw Palmetto and Beta Sistosteral. Does this seem like something that could work?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yes, you should add propecia and get rid of everything except the minoxidil and nizoral unless you are taking them for your health and not your hair

I haven't read up on saw palmetto enough as a DHT-inhibitor, so I can't give you any insight on that. (All I've seen is that for every person claiming it works on hair loss, there is at least one guy saying it does nothing). However, I've heard people get similar side-effects they would get on Finasteride, when using Saw Palmetto excessive amounts, so if you're going that route, might as well go for the clinically proven, working drug. (Not to say side-effects on either would be common though; I've been on Finasteride for a year without sides).

Apart from that, your regimen sounds solid - Minoxidil and Nizoral are in there after all. The other stuff just compliments your well-being in general. I've found that Fish Oil/Omega 3 stuff helps with my scalp, for instance.

i hear bad things about procepia. is there any other DHT inhibitors?

all dht inhibitors are the same pretty much just differ in strength. It is the inhibition of DHT that causes sides so yeah every DHT inhibitor is going to inhibit DHT lol

propecia isn't bad. A relatively small minority get sides, but they will go away when you stop the drug

The OP was asking for advice on treatments, how do this help him?? Its more helpful if you can detail your personal experiences with finasteride. Asuming of course that you do have some and dont just believe everything you read on the internet.
I don't have to, the research is happening http://www.pfsfoundation.org/news/doctors-recruiting-pfs-patients-research-studies/

P.S. Harvard and Baylor are not the internet :)

Thanks Grammaton Cleric for your valued contribution.... What Norwood are you? I would like to know what you are using exactly to fight your hair loss since you are obviously against using finasteride. Is your current regimen working to fight your hair loss? Do you actually have any experience using finasteride or did internet fairy tales scare you from using the best thing we have to stop/slow down our hair loss? Are you now just trying to scare everybody else into not treating their hair loss because you are too scared to do anything about your own?

Did anybody actually waste time and click on the links he posted? Yeah I didn't think so. Posts like yours are such a waste of time. I would rather waste my time reading snake oil salesman spam than read your anti propecia nonsense.

Exactly! What is life without taking some risks? And this 'risk', is so improbable that it doesn't even seem like one.

Exactly. So many don't understand this.

I wish I was one of those guys, but like most of us minoxidil alone isn't enough.
