My Thoughts On Balding. Yes I Am Bald

Lately a lot of my friends have been going through the whole balding phase. Most of my friends are my age (around 27 and older), and are noticing hair loss. Why do they talk to me about it?

Well I shaved my head about 2 years ago. Best decision of my life.

Figured I'd bring some of my thoughts and experiences to the table.

My Hairloss:
- It started pretty early on. I always had a bit of a receding hairline. But around 22 is really started. Once I hit 23-24 it starting not only receding, but thinning in the crown. I started using rogaine and nizoral. It worked....for a little while. I saw a little regrowth, and my hair stayed the same. However, around age 24 closing in on 25, it went nuts. Hair fell out like crazy. I tried a lot of different oils, foods, shampoos, foams, etc. All that other bullshit. It didn't bother me that much tbh, but enough for me to try and keep my hair. Why? Because everyone always makes balding/being bald as a negative social stigma.

I Shaved My Head:
-Decided to shave my head. Actually posted a thread in the bodybuilding forums (misc), and even asked my family and friends about me shaving my head haha. I got all types of responses. But then finally I just decided, why do I care? Why should I care? I basically decided that keeping the very thing that was making self conscious, was stupid. I spent so much energy and thought on trying to keep shitty looking hair. Why? For who? I went and got my head buzzed with a #2. Then later that night I did a full shave with a razor. Best decision of my life. I looked a little goofy at first, but mainly because it was pale. Everyone thought I would look weird bald, but I actually look normal.

The Response:
-All positive. I had people randomly ask me if I was a swimmer, marine, football player, etc. It was pretty funny. Did it affect my love life? Nope. Actually most women loved it. And a lot of people actually said I looked better bald, despite that not always being the norm.

Final Thoughts and Tips:
-Just shave your head. Srs. Why do you want to basically chemically f*** yourself up with finasteride? Why do you want to spend all this time maintaining and saving hair that will never look as good as you want? Why are you so focused on other's opinions? Just shave it and live your life. Get a tan, keep it clean cut, grow facial hair that works for you if you need to, be confident, and make it a part of your personality. Be proud of it. I get people that joke about it all the time and I just laugh and joke right back.

Any other questions, just ask.

I can post pictures as well of the process.

I am someone that always loved my hair. I grew it out and loved the thickness of it. So I value having hair. I can understand if you always kept it short and did not care about it why shaving or losing it might not be as big of an issue. I do not view losing it as a disease but I would also like to do everything I can short of chemically castrating myself or harming myself to keep it. I do not view Finasteride as a harmful drug if taken in a lower dose.

Men with hair look better than men without hair. That is a fact. Having a bald head makes it look like an egg. You need something to frame your face, otherwise you are fucked.

I think it’s subjective for everyone and I’m in the ‘keep my hair at all costs’ camp. There are actually some who look better without hair, as we know there are some who will take a severe hit without it. It’s just not totally one way or the other.

I shaved my head ... I don't regret it but I still hate it. I have a baby face with no beard, hair loss doesn't suit me at all (lof of scars from my weird childhood).
Maybe you look good with your shaved head, but it's not the case for everyone ...

That guy would be ugly with hair too though. It probably just knocked him down a point or two.

Are you still taking your extreme regimen or are you off everything now?

I am not getting side effects, but I just started a few days ago. I started at .25mg/day as this is almost as effective as 1mg and why take 4x as much?
