I've posted here about a year ago, but forgot my username and password, so I just wanted to update and let you guys know that my telogen effluvium and hair shedding has stopped and my hair is back to its original thickness.
I'm 25 years old and about a year ago, I started to shed massive amounts of hair. I have thick, full black hair, kinda like Jay Leno (i'm half hispanic and Italian and absoltely no history of male pattern baldness on either my mother's or father's side), and one morning I took a shower and I started to shed like crazy and the next thing you know, I couldn't style my hair the way I used to because my hair just went limp, and I shed from everwhere: the back, the sides, the front, etc...
Anyways, I suddenly stopped shedding after 2 months, and gradually I noticed that my hair was growing back, noting a fringe of new hair on my hairline. My hair has resumed its natural thickness after about 3 months
For those of you on this forum suffering from Telogen Effluvium, here is a tip to make your hair thicker: after you get out of the shower, brush your hair with one of those large thick, women's brushes and let it air-dry (don't use a comb). After it has air-dryed, its going to look like a huge puffy afro, and then use a thickening conditioner/gel and you will have a gorgeous lil pompadour. that is all.
any questions about Telogen Effluvium, just ask. thanks
