Nope - I did not have any crown thinning or loss prior and do not have any after. As for side-effects, I did have some 'brain fog' early on - however that goes away with time. And no other side effects, no sexual side effects and nothing else. However, I do hope my hairline sees some more improvement - would be nice!

for how long did u stop taking it?

About a month. Scalp itched and hurt like crazy so I was pretty much forced to try it again, luckily no brain fog.

Sometimes I wonder if I’m more sleepy but I think that’s because every 4 days I have to work a 30 hour shift...

I've had a stuffy nose ever since I started finasteride. do you think I can do the same as you? Like, reset it for a week, and then return and take 0,25 mg instead of 0,5 mg?

I dunno, I would just live with that lol. Get some nasal saline to irrigate your sinus. Use some Flonase maybe too.

I’d rather have hair and a non-itchy painful scalp with a stuffy then the other way around

It's not as easy as you think. In your case, id rather have brain fog lol. but hey listen, do you think restarting finasteride can make the nose issues clear up?

i already use cortisonespray btw

I don’t know... mechanistically I don’t see why that would happen unless you have a mild allergy to it which would be an unusual presentation.

Have you talked to doctor about this? How times per a day do you use your spray? What color is drainage? Any sinus pain? You could also have bacterial sinusitis

Hey man I've spoken to a few certified doctors through an application. Alright so the majority of them basically just went to the official countries website to look at information regarding the drug. Everyone came to the conclusion that finasteride cannot be causing a stuffy nose. I was presenting the fact that it may be an allergy? One doctor recommended for me to stop taking it and seeing if the issue still persists.

For about 10 days, I used my spray 2 times, in the morning & night time. Then I dropped to once EOD but its actually hard to sleep at night so I still do it irregularly kinda, when I feel In need it.

I don't have any sinus pain. and I don't know what you meant by drainage colour. If you're talking about mucus it's about white/yellow-ish? I barely get anything as my nose is very dry.

It’s most likely allergies. Do the spray twice in each nostril twice per day, you have to do everyday consistently for it to work. You can add Claritin as well. Before bed use a nasal saline spray to clean out your sinuses, if you have a humidifier use it to.

If it continues go back to your doctor and get evaluated for a bacterial sinusitis, he may give you an antibiotic like augmentin.

If none of this works then maybe think about lowering your propecia dose for a bit, but personally like I said I think a stuffy nose is something I could live with

You say most likely allergies. Allergies to what? Finasteride or something else?

Also, this stuffy nose is causing depression and difficulties living my life lol. Literally. This is what is on my mind 24/7.

Edit. For how long should I use the cortisonespray? Already did it twice per nose/day for about a week and a half and then EOD for about a few days now

Seasonal allergies, to things like pollen mold trees. You continue the spray probably until winter. It’s not a medicine you only use for a week

You don't suppose it could be an allergy to finasteride? Or a side effect maybe?

Drugs.com say that a stuffy nose is a very uncommon side effect of finasteride but it exists nonetheless

Medication side effects are very generic and include many things not necesarrily associated with the drug. But it’s not impossible

What would you recommend for me to do? Should I quit the medication for a week or two and see if the stuffy nose subsides? Or keep on with finasteride?

See what I wrote above. I would continue it but it’s up to you

Aight, I think my plan is to continue it, and it the meantime visit a doctor to see what's up. Thoughts? I'll keep using the cortisonespray atleast 1x a day again aswell.

Thanks alot for all your replies btw.

It looks to me like there is some thickening of hair in the centre of your head at the front. But it doesnt look like any growth at the hairline
