My results on BIG 3 (Update : 1 year and half page 2)

Hello,

I am 21 and I noticed I begun to bald in October 2011 but it has probably begun before. My regimen is as follows :

- Minoxidil 5 % : twice a day (focused on crown and temples) ~ 4 months
- Propecia 1 mg a day. 3 weeks on finasteride (morning), then one week off (side effects), now for 2 month and 3 weeks (night)
- Keto 2 % twice or once a week (3 month and half)

I also take natural stuff :

- Brewer's yeast (4 months)
- Magnesium B6 (4 months)
- Vitamin E (2 month)
- Chilli pepper (2 month)

Tried : Nettle root -> breast pain

Side effects :

- Huge breast pain from finasteride the first time, now just a little pain sometimes
- Libido is ok
- Some itchy scalp with minoxidil at the beggining
- Unexpected hair growth (look around eyebrows) -> I plan to be more serious while applying minoxidil -> no more unexpected growth now

Hello,

Thanks you all for your answers. I have updated pics on the first message and it looks like it works. But on the other hand I think that hairloss has not stopped even if it looks like I have more hair(I see quite many hair when I wash hair), Is it still the shedding ??! I have begun the treatment for 3 months so it would be strange... I'm quite affraid about that...

Hello,

I have updated the month 4 (in fact it is 4 months and half but let's say 4 months).
It does not seem that it has been new regrowth since the last update but new hairs have grown and so the density looks better in the temple area (the hairline now looks a bit lower than the baseline).

But now I experience a quite huge shedding (somedays I lost like at least 150-200 hairs per shower) everywhere, so that my overall density looks worse. I hope it is the propecia normal shedding...

Sorry but does anyone have an opinion about shedding ? Is it possible with propecia now ??

Months 3-4 were absolutely miserable for me on Propecia. I shed extensively and density got really bad. Towards the end of month 4 shedding stopped (dramatically). I went from 50-70 hairs in shower to literally 2-3 hairs in shower. Stick through this phase as those hairs are being shed to make way for stronger, and hopefully thicker hair. I strongly believe that the hair has got to cycle 2-3 times for true improvement, it's no wonder that best results are usually seen at 24-30 months on Propecia, because that gives time for hair to iteratively cycle out. Look at se-freaks story, he shed like 600 hairs a day at one point, but he was convinced that those hairs would come back stronger, and that is precisely what happened in his case. Good luck and stick it out for at least 12-18 months.

Thanks a lot for your answer, it reassures me because I thunk it was very rare to have a shedding on propecia. I hope the density will come at least as the same level than before, I have to be patient.

I already had the minoxidil shedding but it was not as impressive.

I have no more side effects (my libido is in fact toostrong) apart from lot of oversized eyebrows.
I think I have a bit receeded but not much. The right templelooks bad but the left one does not look not that bad (I’m surprised). My father had a far worse hairline at my age.But I’m only 22..
I see less hair in my hand when I take a shower but I reallythink I keep on balding…
Which Norwood am I in your opinion ?
