Looks like you've mainained at least, which is what you should have expected with the drugs. I cant see improvement.

Temples look better and the vellus hairs at the hairline are longer in the last pic, so it's either neutral or positive but not negative, in my opinion.

I think your hair is looking good, what exactly is your regime btw? I didn't quite understand the 4 dutas 1 finasteride part

I take 4 dutas a day. One 1.25 Mg finasteride. And recently I added rogaine to the mix, as well as a more steady usage of nizoral. But that's only within the last couple of weeks.

I started on 1 dutas 2 years ago I think then slowly have built up to 4 a day. Sometimes I'm contemplating 5, but it would become a tad bit too expensive yet.

In regards to the vellus hairs, I'm not sure if they are just hairs falling out, or being replaced. I can't really tell. If I pull them, I get a few each time. Short ones normally. But it could weigh either way.

Wait, what! You take 4 duats a day, do you mean 4 capsules containing 0.5mg? Well thats the first i've ever heard of anyone taking such a copious amount of dutasteride and the finasteride just tops it off.

Do you experience and side effects and how old are you?

Its hard to tell how your hair is doing, the photos arent all done at similar angels and lighting, with the hairline pulled back. But from what i can see you have maintained well.

Ha ha. I don't have any side effects. Except sexual stamina actually. But I don't know if that has anything to do with the medication. Who knows.

I'm 31, and I discovered my hair loss when I was 23 I think. It was pretty severe, but mostly concentrated on the crown. I have regrown a bit since then, and have been maintaining for at least 2 years now.

But the temples started receding pretty rapidly 3 years ago, and I've upped the dosage since, as I read multiple places that the best results with dutasteride was with 2.5 mg a day.

Should I be worried? :)

Wow, I admire your guts and I'm glad you didn't have any side effects. That's amazing.

The problem with your regimen is this: if you're taking both drugs (finasteride + dutasteride) at the same time, how do you know which one is the most effective?

Please keep us posted Thomas, this thread is getting interesting. :)

Good luck!

thats a lot of dutasteride

I didn't really see any difference in any of your pics, so it looks like your hairloss is being kept at bay

I actually started on finasteride 8 years ago, but I felt like it was loosing effectivity as my temples started receding more and more, so I switched to dutasteride, but I felt the receding continued so I added finasteride back to the regimen and have kept that since. Just to be sure : )

Did you experience a massive shed when first taking dutasteride? I've been tempted to hope on but I've heard a lot of horror stories from dutasteride users saying their hair never recovered and got a lot worse, obviously you don't seem to have that problem.

Yes. I had a pretty severe shed that I THINK without being completely sure lasted for a long time. Maybe even a year.

I of course panicked and got back on finasteride as a safety measure as thought the dutasteride was crap. But I think it was just a pretty bad shed.

I'm no doctor. I don't know.

Maybe its the lighting or the angle but your hair seems to look a little worse in some pics then better in others. Maybe its due to shedding, but i will say in all you have definetelly maintained and your last pic looks slightly better than the first pic. Congrats you've found something that has worked for you and inspire others that hairloss can be stopped if only for a while.
