It has been a while since I posted on this forum and thought it would be good to update you on my journey so far.
It have been just over a year since I started fighting aggressive hairloss with finasteride and minoxidil. I can honestly say that my results have been very pleasing.
I have experienced a high level of regrowth on the crown and lower temple areas (the ridge above sideburns) and no further receding on temples. I think that part of the reason for this is that I started both treatments at a young age (21) within a year of the hairloss beginning.
My regime has been fairly consistent. I currently take my finasteride every morning and apply rogaine foam once an evening, I apply after a shower but ensure that my hair is dry beforehand.
My shedding has been unpredictable and at times aggressive. I have found that whenever I am going through a period of heavy shedding it seems to subside if I drink more water and eat healthier which makes sense.
If you are going through shedding just ride it out and continue with the treatments... My mindset is that if you weren't using the treatments you would still be shedding/losing hair. If you are going bald you are going to continue going bald without the treatments so what have you got to loose.
I also recommend Apecin shampoo. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now. I leave it in for a couple of minutes and then rinse. It leaves my hair thick and I no longer have to use concealer which is good!
