I was looking for something to use in the mornings..wanted to use SOD, rooibos, and apple extract for sure. Now I'm thinking of skipping the SOD- but would still like the apple peel extract which isn't in Dr Yechiel's suggestions below.

Anything else one can think of adding?? What's availabe can be seen here: http://www.the-formulator.com/order/05select.php ..although one can request something that isn't there. I'm sure most of you are aware of procyanidins for hairloss(in gse and apple peel extract..and rooibos I think)..and there's a "study" on rooibos itself.

Well I couldn't wait. I've formulated the above topical and have asked them to add biotin. See this BBB(blurb from Bryan on biotin):

"The vitamin biotin, a growth factor and participant in fatty acid synthesis, seems to have a prophylactic value in slowing hair loss. A biotin deficiency leads to hair falling out. People who like to eat foods or frinks containing raw egg should take biotin supplements because uncooked egg white contains avidin, an anti-biotin factor. Take your biotin supplement at least six hours before or after you eat any raw egg white. In one series of tests of biotin in balding men, biotin was used instead of estrogen in a penetrating cream applied to the scalp. The biotin cream (which also contained niacin, vitamin B-3, a histamine releaser) was applied daily at bedtime. The biotin content was 0.25 to 1.0 percent. Histamine release, such as is triggered by niacin, is essential for cell growth and reproduction. Histamine release causes a normally healing wound to become red and itchy. In addition, a shampoo containing various conditioners to reduce hair breakage and cystine, cysteine, and methionine (amino acids in hair) was used three times a week. There were no side effects with the biotin. Within six to eight weeks, 89 percent of the nearly 1,200 men in the study (ranging in age from 15 to 69) showed marked reduction in hair fallout, from losses of 100 to 350 hairs per day to a daily average loss of less than 50 hairs. Regrowth of hair also occurred in the biotin study. Although incomplete at the time the paper was published, preliminary data indicated that regrowth (150 to 200 3/4-inch or longer hairs per square inch in bald areas) occurred in about 50 to 75 percent of the subjects. Younger men in the study had better results."

Around $78. It's custom...I didn't think it'd be cheap
I'm able to make these topicals last anyway.

The biotin will be liposomal btw.

Oh yeah..and I'm still using them in the evenings. I just want something I can use in the mornings at times. And I wanted to continue using a rooibos product for sure...and the other goodies are a plus.

I can get away with using the Equisomin or EquiClear in the morning..if I spread it around enough(absorbs well). But this new product should be even less noticeable(hoping not noticeable at all) and smell a little better.

Of course I'm waiting to see what Lipoxidil is going to do/come out with...and still debating whether to try Fred's topical. I wish he'd respond to emails etc. Maybe I'll just see how it goes with mine..and wait for feedback on Fred's.

I'm sure he'll be using it himself. Next week should be the week it's available. Or was it just that orders could be placed then....

Just started using the product today. So far it does what I wanted..smells good and vanishes- no noticeable residue.

Will wait to see how others respond to Fred's topical. Won't be adding anything else until this fall..except maybe super oxicell if I run out of the glut/sod Equiclear before then.

Please keep us up todate, this looks very interesting. Seems to have the whole enchillada. I am just curious about the asteriks by the ingredients. What is the significance of * ** *** . Is it a mark of percentage for that ingredient?

Thanks

I guess he used those to indicate priority of the ingredients he suggested. In case one was looking to make it cheaper.

Well that makes sense. I guess what I was really wanting to know is the concentration of the various items in the final mixture.

I assume they choose the % mix of an item using their best practices for safety and effectiveness unless the customer asks for something different by email.

Thanks

Yeah..I just let them go ahead with figuring out the %'s. I suppose I could ask..I do know that biotin(which is one of the last ingreds listed..first thought I didn't see it on there)is between 0.5% and 2%. Now I don't know if they want to keep it a secret or that's just how it goes when making these things or ?

Well they do say on their site that whatever they make for you belongs to them not you. So I guess you couldn't complain if your potion grows hair in a big way and they start producing it for sell themselves.

After all the only people who know exactly what and the exact amounts of what is put in a given formulation is them. It may happen that one of their customers will hit on the "Silver Bullet" of hair loss and make them rich beyond all dreams.

I seriously doubt it will ever happen and they probably do also. Just a way to keep people from filing frivolous lawsuits I would guess.

Fine..if mine does that I just won't tell anybody :D

Actually Dr. Yechiel did pick out most of what's in mine. I wanted the Rooibos and apple peel extract(and at first, SOD) but asked for suggestions from others.

I think he said some time back he was working on something containing Rooibos..dunno if these other things he suggested will be in there or what.
