My link between Sex and Hair Loss

Well, I'm not a scientist or anything, but I can tell you one thing that I am completely sure of.

To begin, I want to state that I get gyno sides from Finasteride so I had to stop taking it. Very disappointing, since it seemed to be working. I'm just saying this because it may give some people here an idea about my hormones on a base level.

I'm a diffuse thinner, losing the entire top.

Anyway, I've been more sexually active as of late, and I know for a fact that it significantly impacts my skin. I'm an adult and get acne here and there, but when I am more sexually active, my skin breaks out more. I have very oily skin and I'm prone to cystic acne. This link between my acne and sexual activity I have known about for years. As far as that goes, I am 100% certain of the link between sex and my skin quality.

I'm no hair expert, as stated before. I know my hair looks worse as of late, but it's much easier for me to see changes in my skin than in my hair.

I'm not here to claim that I have any proof between sex and hair loss, but rather, I want to ask those of you out there more about these subjects why there is certainly a link between my sexual activity and skin quality, but many believe it cannot also be associated with hair loss?

Could this be taken as a possible link to my personal hair loss, or could someone explain why this might happen to me on a skin/hormonal level?

Thanks for your time, and no flame wars please!

ejaculation increases prolactin production which can cause acne, gyno etc. to counter excess prolactin take a look at chasteberry supplementation.

Thank you for the response. I was hoping there would be more of a discussion here!

Personally, I believe there is a connection between ejaculation and the worsening of inflammatory conditions such as male pattern baldness or acne.

I do not believe at all that frequent ejaculation causes male pattern baldness, but from personal experience I think it worsens the scalp itch most definately. Not sure about shedding though. I do know my scalp itches and burns a hell of a lot more after sexual activity. Acne breaks out more too. No lie.

I believe prolactin is somehow related to this. I am not a doctor though, and I don't have a good science background. But its just speculation from reading about prolactin and dht on various websites. It could all be BS though.

I am not suggesting that one would or should trade sex for hair, but I think we should feel free to openly debate about the reasons for any aggravation of male pattern baldness or acne.

hi aker, if u go to a sexual/masturbation addiction forum then you will find hundreds of people with similar experiences e.g. acne related to frequency of masturbation.

In one severe case a guy used to masturbate 7 times a day using v**** and now he has a type 1 Alzheimer's and he once urinated blood. Then after stopping masturbation using ssri's he no longer has any symptoms of Alzheimer's.

isnt it great what stopping masturbation to once a week can do?

Good sir, I think you are on to something. My experience is that when I got involved sexually, before I didn't notice any problems, but then about a year and a half ago (this was about a year after my activity), I started noticing it, and eventually came here. I hope there isn't any such link though!
