Hey guys

I've been debating with myself a lot lately whether or not to actually take some action to fight my hair loss. I've been using this crappy biotin spray that is all natural. It didnt do anything at all.

Recently i went to the family doctor to ask him some questions. I just sat there for like 30 minutes and fired questions at him which he tried his best to answer. Its surprising how little people know about hair loss though. Really. I probably learned more on this forum than my family doctor could ever tell me.

Anyways i got a prescription for 4 months of 2% Rogaine. I want to see how this goes and if it goes ok maybe i should add some Nizoral to make my scalp healthier. Maybe i'll add some propecia, but i've heard some scary stuff about guys growing boobs on this site.
Is this just an extreme minority or is the number of posts about it on this site an actual representation of the frequency of gyno?
Do you know where i can find studies about the side effects of propecia?
Do people think that Propecia is safe?

Do you guys think that i should go up to 5% after the initial trial period, because this is what everyone seems to be using?

Thanks. I really value your guys opinions.

My suggestion is add the nizoral now. Everyone experiencing hair loss needs nizoral, no matter what. So start swapping that in with your regular shampoo.

Surprise :) See what I mean guys? How you scare the newbies and lurkers with your alarmist posts? Styles, there are over 600,000 people using Propecia right now. The 1 or 2 that get severe gyno go online, find sites like these, and post about it. Its rare. Try the Propecia for 1 month and you will know if you are going to have any problems. 95% chance you wont.

Yes.

Propecia and Nizoral alone should be enough for you to maintain all your hair for up to 7 years to come. If you really need to regrow, add Rogaine 5%. Its just a larger % of responders with the 5% than 2%. thats the main difference.

16 months on Propecia now. Absolutely no side effects.

Basically, it's the best thing I've ever taken. It actually fixed a situation that seemed hopeless. I came in expecting nothing and I got far, far more.

Yeah, I was terrified when I realized I was suffering from male pattern baldness. I was shedding like crazy, on my pillow, in the shower, and even on my desk at work. 2.5 months on propecia, and I can shake my hair vigorously with my hands, and sometimes not one single hair will come out. Shedding has ceased, and now I am on the big 3, hoping for regrowth.

Side effects: minor loss of libido for a week, and now everything is back to normal.

But I know I you feel, we were all there. I read the same posts about gyno, and they scared me at first, too.

Use propecia my friend.

I was also like you, at first I was scared of propecia because of guys saying things like(I was chemically casterated, I'll never recover I'm a woman now) even in the worst case scenario that's just OTT.The body has hundreds of androgens, so the absence of DHT makes very little difference, in most guys no difference at allYou'll know yourself how you react to it, most of all don't worry

Progress

Axon, did you shed? When did you see progress? I've been on propecia for over 9months now and I continue to lose lots of hair in the shower and brushing. No improvement or sideeffects. Any advice? What form of finestride do you use?...(propecia/proscar)?
