My Hairloss: what should I do?

hey Guys,

So I need some advice on my Hairloss, to be honest it consumes my thoughts constantly and I already deal with depression, when my hair is completely dry you can't notice much but that doesn't tell the whole story and I feel the vast thinness. I have been trying to cope with natural supplements but from the majority of feedback I've read on hairloss forums it seems I am totally wasting my time with that.

I actually just bought about 6 months worth of a regime I'm regretting including:

-Shin Mein DHT Blocker
-GNC ultra nourish hair vitamin for men
-Tricomin Follicle Spray
-Revita Shampoo/ Dermaroller comb

it wasn't until this weekend when a friend commented on how thin my hair has become after coming out of a lake that I've considered its probably time to attack my hairloss more agressively with perhaps the big 3.

I am terribly afraid of the potential side effects of Procepia (like many) but if it makes sense to start early and preserve what I have instead of waiting for things to get worse then I guess I am ready to take the plunge.

take a look at my photo's, any advice would be greatly appreciated I know there's a lot of knowledgeable people here!

burning questions
1)I'm 24 and one of the reasons I've avoided minoxidil is the whole "losses effectiveness" aspect of it, I rather save its effectiveness for when things get desperate if it's only gonna last for short-term, am I wrong?

2)I like to go to the gym and have a sex life, is Procepia going to destroy both my athletic body and sexual ability? I plan on starting with only 0.25mg

3)is there an effective way to combat Procepia side effects? my potential aggressive regime will include lipogaine, finasteride 0.25mg, Revita, and Crinagen..how's that sound?

I really don't see much hair loss honestly. That first picture is pretty telling. Hair always looks thinner when wet. You, like me, seem to have finely textured hair so it will look worse when wet. Have you seen a dermatologist? If you want to truly get to the bottom of your situation, it's really the only way to go. And as for Propecia, if you find that you need/want to take it, you have to just jump in cannonball style. It's the only way to find out how your body will respond to it. You might see some side effects at first that may worry you, but you just have to ride it out until your body gets used to it. You should really start with the full 1mg dose to see how you respond to that, and if you have no sides at all, you're in good shape. The only reason to lower dosage is to see if you can slightly reduce side effects. You want to block as much DHT as possible, so start with higher dosage and work you way down rather than vice versa.

wow that was an incredibly positive response, thank you! I also sometimes wonder if my hair is merely ridiculously thin, I mean its really thin to the point I look bald when I throw water on it..I must say my father is bald, which has made me extra paranoid and motivated to prevent the situation before it takes over, I feel like its definitely coming

Dude, I know how you feel. I'm 25, every man in my family over the age of 35 has some form of hair loss. One grandfather is a Norwood 6, the other is a full 7. My cousin, who is all of 22 years old is ALREADY a full blown Norwood 6. He had a badly receding hairline when he was only 16. Male pattern baldness runs rampant in my family. My dad was lucky enough to not start balding until his mid 40s. My older brother is 28 and he still has really thick hair. Still, though, when I was told by my derm that my suspicions were correct and that I was thinning badly in my crown, I was both horrified yet somewhat relieved. I was relieved in the sense, that I finally knew for sure and could go about doing something to fix my hair.

so even though you suggest I may not yet be suffering from male pattern baldness that I should still try out finasteride for my advanced thinning? I see it is part of your regime and you described a similar situation to mine

Not exactly, I'm just saying I was naive to think that I would have hair on the top of my head forever, let alone having it in into my 30s. My hair thinning is legit, and has been confirmed by two derms. There is no need to get on finasteride if you aren't balding, dude. Find out for sure first. Go see a derm and have them test for miniaturization in your scalp and they'll be able to give you a solid diagnosis on your situation. Once you start treating hair loss, it's a lifelong commitment so there's no need to start if you don't have to. I have to set an alarm on my phone to remember to take my pill, and I have to do the minoxidil dance twice daily as well as remember the nizoral shampoo every so often. It's a pain in the ***, dude. No need to give yourself unnecessary daily tasks if it's not necessary, right?
