My hairloss "Pics"

My hairloss isnt noticeble the way i style my hair, but it is noticeable if a wind comes and takes my bangs away.

I dye my hair black, and it looks a bit worse then it really is on the pics, because of my lightbrown hair that has grown out and needs a recolouring.

My dad is balding the same way as me, and has a really high hairline and also losing hair on his crown, but that started when he was 40 or so.

I have really long hair, and i don't like the idea of it being even more noticeable before it starts getting better. Was thinking about starting on finasteride, proscar or propecia, should i expect losing some hair at first, even if i start on 1/4 cap?

You shouldn't experience a shed on finasteride.

In my experience you should stop shedding within days of the first dose, and if you look carefully you will see regrowth within weeks. However everyone is different.

Lets hope it works for you, I can't imagine maintaining that hairstyle to be much fun.

Yes take it at the same time everyday. 1/4 pill is shown to be nearly as effective as a full dose, so it makes little difference in effectiveness, but a big difference financially.

you're talking about propecia now? i can't get proscar, woman at the drug store said it was for prostata something, but they do have propecia, need a reception obv and so on .. but

1 propecia tab is 1 mg yes? should i split it to 0.25mg?
or do u only split the proscar because they are 4mg?

Yes its exactly the same drug (finasteride) just 1 tablet of propecia contains 1mg and 1 proscar tablet contains 5mg.

Yes that is a very nice comb forward! I have a similar hair style where i push the hair forward and spike it up at the back in a vain attempt to disguise my NW2.5 frontal baldness, gotta agree with you there the damn wind gets me every time!

Start taking Finasteride, but remember that it can only regrow hair in the crown areas and that minoxidil or Regaine will be more effective at regrowing hair on your temples.

I've been on Regaine 5% for 5weeks now and at this early stage I can see some dark small hairs begining to grow around my bald temple areas. I have only experienced a mild shed of hair so far.

Good luck with the treatment, I'm sure if you stick with finasteride + minoxidil, you will get results!

the first picture was taken from a bad angle, and it looked worse than it really was, so here's another picture.

My plan so far is to only take 0.25mg of propecia a day for 3 months minimum, will post new pictures after 3 months, to show you guys and myself if there's any regrowth with this dosage.

It does NOT only regrow in the crown. But everyone is dif! Give it a shot!

Also yeah, I can't believe how well you've covered you hairloss...maybe it helps that your hair is straight, my hair is a bit curly and 'gaps' in my fringe would often show up if I tried to do that...I've still got the same hairline as you and you're making me think of trying something similar again if I keep making gains with my regimen (though admittedly the crown has a LONG way to go before I could grow my hair out and not look like a dick..)

Yeah I'm back on it. Its been a couple months now, and things are fine. I crashed before, and I think my testosterone was low. Since I started now I do things to try and make sure my testosterone stays high. Hopefully no sides this time. I took about a month off last time and it really helped to sort things out.

Anyway I feel great, and getting some serious regrowth again. Feel free to pm me if u have any questions. I dont wanna hijack this forum.

Yeah I had a similar type hairstyle, until I grew enough hair back with finasteride that I just cut it short with nothing to hide.

Looks like my hairloss also. Well, the hairloss I used to have! Because of this I think you will respod well. Just watch out for sides. Keep your testosterone high. Zinc is good for that. Binge drinking is not.

By the way I could spot your comb over from a mile away, but I used to have the same kind..However slightly less noticable.

Great comb over, you didn't mention your age but you have the same sorta hair loss I had when I was in my early 20s to 25.

Defiantly get on the treatments asap, you look young so theirs a bit of chance you may recover hopefully to looking better.

I started on the big 3 at 30 and that's my biggest mistake yet, let it too late and sadly even after almost 3 years on the big 3 no improvement just stability of what I have so get on some decent treatments and hopefully you wont need to do comb overs

Okay, been on 0.5mg propecia for nearly 2 months now. No regrowth so far, but i got no good pics to compare with, so i dno. I've noticed less hair falling out though, especially in the shower.

Doubt propecia will regrow any hair for me, since i have a receeding hairline, and thin on the sides(next to the ear, sideburns or whatever). Got lots of hair on the crown. but if it will slow down my receeding hairline, then its cool.

Btw, bought nizoral a week ago, used it twice so far. Do u guys use nizoral 2 or 3 times a week? and i could only buy the 1%. Need a prescription for 2% obviously. what % are u guys on?

Generally you shouldn't need a prescription for 2% nizoral, I buy it at my local pharmacy and it's available all over internet.

However I suggest you include one drug at the time in your regimen so you can observe changes. nizoral is quite aggresive and I think it cause some shedding in my case.

Btw, I can't see your pics except for the last one and I'd say it looks decent, but for a person like me, who is fighting hairloss for 10+ years it's a no brainer that your losing hair.

just wondering what you mean by this. what does zinc do in terms of testosterone and how will that affect someone taking finasteride or with hairloss?
same question regarding alcohol as i drink quite a lot every day =(
