It's a financial commitment, but less so if you keep the hair short and get a long lasting system like poly plus if the hair is short and you are put in a situation you can't get a system you can just shave it and restart without having to wait too long to get back where you want. Right now is a tough time though as well with supply chains being messed up and systems taking a long time to be made so you may want to wait before even messing with systems.

Without even doing anything though if it's just one small spot using conditioner can really help a thicker hair look, I didn't really think much about conditioner when I was younger since my hair was short and wasn't as thin and guys aren't always the most caring about their hair until they need to be. I was out of conditioner yesterday and my hair looked so thin, I forgot how thin it looked because when I condition it I get pretty good coverage, but without conditioner it looked pretty bad lol. Maybe you've always shampooed and conditioned though and this part is irrelevant, but just throwing that out there.

Hair systems are an excellent option Vs the majority of other solutions for hair loss. I say this with confidence because I tried and/or seriously considered everything over a number of years.

I tried hair systems as a last resort, there were no other options. If it works then great, if not you can take it off and nothing will have changed except you'll have burned some cash you can easily get back.

I started wearing in my late 20s and it's been 4 or 5 years now. It's not without its downsides but it has definitely completely changed my life for the better in a myriad of ways.

I don't think it's for everyone. It is a steep learning curve which often leads you and you have to kind of hang on and deal with issues as they arise. As with anything it does et easier in time and many things become routine.

If you wear and it looks good and natural, if it improves the way you look and makes you more attractive, nobody will care about the fact you're wearing hair, they just see a more attractive guy. Even if people know for a fact you wear but it does all those things, they'll still look past the fact you wear and see a more attractive and confident guy. Sad in some respects but good for us!

I doubt that wearing conditioner alone would change anything on the way it looks and even if it would be minimal. I can’t brush my hair up or or to the sides without some patchy spots being visible it’s so frustrating :-(..

I got a appointment with a hair transplantation clinic and hope it will go well! I just want to fill in these spots and hope they will be good again like there where before I did that stupid mistake

It would definitely make me look better wearing one and I know that would make me feel better. It’s just the fact that it starts to look bad and losses it’s color after some time and the fact I would have to pay around 700-800€ every 4-6 months for it that would bother me. A hair transplant is cheaper on the long term. It has some risks but I just hope it will go well!

If it doesn’t then maybe I would go for a hair system since there would be no other choice for me.

You can get them cheaper than that with decent quality.
Around £415 for a custom hair system.

If it looses its colour after 4-6 months or less. Not a big deal. Just use a hair dye on it. A 'permanent' dye if it's safe to use. Some permanent dyes have nasty things in them though which can cause severe allergic reactions.
Otherwise a natural dye or henna etc.

A hair transplant won't give a good result on a Norwood 6 or 7 either.
I looked into that at first and my donor hair is too thin, and I'm a Norwood 7.

The hair systems shops in my area here and in Germany in general want more than 415€ unfortunately. But I remember seeing some online shops where you can order a hair system for that price. Would you recommend that ?

I doubt though I would be able to glue it on all by myself at the start without any experience.

Yeah not everyone is able to get one. In my case it’s 2 spots at the front where I just want more density but a hair transplant also has risks. I fear the shock loss that happens on some people that do hair transplants. They start to lose some of their nearby native hair as a effect of the hair transplantation.

MG Ford ships worldwide and does remote cut-ins.

I'm going with him soon. His prices are excellent and so is his videos showing his hair system work.

It's not a guarantee that all hair systems eventually look bad. - that's down to how you care for and maintain them. I've never had to dye any of mine and I usually get 6 months from a system. My last system lasted 10 months though as I've really got the hang of things at this point and I always prioritise longevity.

I was booked for a hair transplant at one point but eventually withdrew. IMO there are three major differences between transplants and hair systems:

1. Obviously a hair system is a one off big payment whereas systems are continuous smaller payments but will eventually cost more (unless you need several transplants)

2. Hair systems don't leave permanent scars and, if it doesn't look good to you, you can take it off any time and forget it ever happened!

2. You can achieve any density or hairline with a system. That's one thing I love about them - If you're unhappy with either it's an easy fix.

Anyone in the UK watch 10 years younger in 10 days?

They had someone on there who has lost his hair. He started balding in his late teens. They ask the general public to guess his age and it was 52 despite him being 40. He stated the hair loss knocked his confidence, he stopped going out and he felt less manly...the hair stylist was quite emotional as he probably remembers how that feels.

The hair stylist who had 4 hair transplant's (looked good) stated that some people wear a hair system and they are so good they never take it any further.

Anyway they styled his clothes, shaved his beard, fixed his teeth and he wore a hair piece, he looked like a completely different person. He was so overwhelmed by his new look, and the public now guessed he was 37.

I was made up for him, not sure why you would go on national TV though, although i guess everyone would know he was wearing as he's been bald for so long, takes some guts, fair play to him.

But it just goes to show its never too late (he was only 40 but you know what i mean) to make a positive change no matter what that change is.

At first a hair system can make your confidence even worse from time to time. For me it was lots of ups and downs in the beginning. Later you start accepting that you're wearing and you won't feel too bad for it. Not possible to accept balding unfortunately.

Not sure what you mean that it's not possible to accept balding? I assume you mean you can't as lots of people do, but they won't be on here lol.

It might be worth seeing a specialist hair doctor - as your loss sounds pretty unusual. There are some rarer conditions like aratea or lichen planopilaris hat can cause spotty hair loss - and treatments would be different than the usual male pattern baldness.

I would say it boosts my confidence 95% of the time. The other 5% are those rare moments where I wish I had my original hair…or my scalp is itchy af and I want to rip off the unit (not a common issue)…or I worry about stupid sh&t like, “what if they stop making French lace units altogether? I will be EXPOSED”…
Again, these thoughts rarely occur, but they do. The first few months are pretty emotional, by the way. It took me a good 3-6 months to accept that I was wearing hair (toupee, hair system, man weave, dead rat lol). It was soooo much easier accepting the fact I was using Toppik (used it for 10 years). I only stopped because I had lost too much hair, but it was a godsend for a good 8 to 9 years there. However, the hair system was the logical choice moving forward. I have 0 interest in taking finasteride, so no hair transplants for me.

I have a hair system wearer of 2 years and I hovered on all the forums and youtube channels for about a year before I actually made the decision to go with one. The main reason it took me a year was to build up the courage to go into work the next day with it but I am telling you it is the best decision I have ever made, confidence has gone through the roof, Don't get me wrong I had the people who used to say "Shave it off" etc but I clearly stated "why would I want to do that?" I like having hair and my hair system looks good and not one soul would notice I have it. Long story short I built up the courage, ordered and got my first sitting done - the system lasted 13months (Yes 13months!) but I did dye it towards the 7th-8th month due to the colour fading brighter etc.

Word of advice - when you have it done make sure you have people around you, you trust because the first time you have it fitted you will go through all sorts of emotions (Well I did) saying what I have done ? does it look ok to the other half ... every 2minutes, wanting to take it off but in the end it worked out well and doing my own regime off cleaning & reapplying made me even more confident. Just do your research and ask as many questions you need to.

I went with a hair style for the first time round which if I wanted to could cover the front hair line due to high maintenance of a exposed frontal hair line and it worked wonders.

Our stories are similar. I got a lot of wear time from my first 2 units. I also cover the hairline, because I don’t want to deal with the maintenance. I so feel you on the emotional part. I so wasn’t expecting that.

Your hair loss doesn't really seem severe enough to warrant a hair system to be honest, i would seriously try medication before thinking about it, but up to you.
