My Hair My Wife and My Thinning

I always had a full head of great hair. For the past 20 years I had some thinning in the back. But now I see more of it thinning on top and maybe even the front. This is freaking me out. I put rogaine liquid in my hair tonight and it looks really greasy. Can it be that my hair looks much, much thinner because of the greasy look the rogaine is giving to my hair and scalp? I would think that might be the case since after I wash my hair and blow dry it it looks great! And what give with a wife who cannot empathise with a grown man who is scared @$#W about finally losing some of his hair, even if it is in his 50s. Why would a wife say "get over it?" She says I am not really losing my hair, but why not try to comfort the poor sap that I am instead of just brushing off my panic.
