Hi everyone,

I started losing my hair five years ago.
I decided to perform PRP one year ago but my hair started thinning aggressively 3 months later and is getting worse since then.
I started dermarolling once a month with minoxidil once daily (night time) 2 months ago to no avail and i feel like my scalp is very itchy and is still thinning.
I am not willing to take propecia because i am not really convinced it's gonna help in my case.

Could anyone please check my photos and let me know if hair transplant is an option?

Thank you,

You have to hop on finasteride, no other way around it.

Thank you for your reply.
Do you think it is DUPA or just a patterned thinning?
Are the sides and the back of your head also thinning?

Here are the pics below
Sides don't seem very problematic. But the crown is thinning at a worrying rate. I would go to a doctor to be sure. Either way if I was you I would immediately start finasteride

What about hair transplant? I am afraid to start finasteride because of the side effects.

I can't tell for sure, ask in the transplant section because I don't know much. But you should start finasteride, everyone of us was scared in the beginning but most probably nothing will happen to you. I had zero sides from finasteride and so do many people.

whats the point of getting a hair transplant if you wont take finasteride?

you will keep losing your hair if you dont and all you will have left is an island of hair on top of your head

you have very severe hair loss. I think you could of started finasteride 5 years ago when you first noticed it

standard early/mid 30s male pattern baldness (though I'm sure the signs were there when you were younger), you need finasteride ASAP

and +1 to what @Hairs45 said, you would have to be insane (or enjoy burning money) to get a hair transplant and NOT be on medication

I always heard that hair transplant is going to work because the donor area is not DHT sensitive so that the transplanted hair is not gonna thin and fall out. Am i wrong?

In regards to finasteride, the more i read about its side effects the more i fear to take it.
Plus, how sure you guys are that my hair loss is due to DHT so i have to take finasteride to freeze it?
And if i consider it, can i start with lower dose (0.2mg) and see how i would react to it then increase the dosage accordingly or stop it if it brings any of the mentioned side effects?

Thanks again.

You let it get too bad. Your diet is probably shocking too.

@Capone Believe me it was way better few months ago. I had 4 PRP sessions last year, then 3 months later i got Telogen Effluvium and it didn't go back to normal since then.
My diet is good and i eat healthy as much possible.

I think youre right with how the hair transplants work. but if you go to any reputable hair transplant doctor they wont do a transplant on you if youre not on finasteride. some require a year of taking it before doing the transplant as well.

Im my experience SSRI's side effects are worse in killing my libido/erections than finasteride.
maybe it was because of taking SSRI and Finasteride together but with finasteride alone my erections are much better

the fear of going bald should be more worrysome than the side effects of finasteride
