I am 18years old I started Growing my hair out back in June. I always let it get nice and poofy and then cut my hair.. But now I just decided not to cut it. Now its really long..

My hair is starting to thin and when ever I take a shower and rinse out the shampoo hair starts falling out. Sometimes a lot sometimes a little bit.

IT is starting to scare me because I am only 18, My grandfather started seriously balding when he was early 50's.

Why is this happening? Is it because I let my hair grow out to long with out getting it cut and my hair is basically dead?

I need help!

well, first off you want to make sure it's male pattern baldness. It could be, but sometimes it's something else causing the hair loss. Second, growing out the hair would have no effect on you losing your hair, so don't worry about that. I started losing mine right before I turned 18, im 21 now. If it is male pattern baldness, don't freak out because there is a lot of preventative measures you can take.
