I've been noticing significant thinning within my crown and while it does look suspicious, I still wanted to confirm if I'm balding. Please check the image. If I am, what treatments can I use, given I'm age 17?

Looks like a double crown. It is always hard to tell with the crown because it always looks different depending on the lighting. And you have nothing to compare it to since you usually don't pay attention to your crown when you are a child :).

You look fine. Keep an eye on it, take pics every few months to monitor. That way if you truly do see a decline you can catch it early with treatment. The sooner you treat it the better off you'll be.

I see little kiddos that have crowns like that all the time. I would just keep an eye on it for now.

I agree with the others here. If you have black coarse hair like yourself, it's way easier to see through when its short. Your crown is not extending, you just have two cowlicks.

Go look at your crown in the bathroom using the wall mounted mirror and a hand mirror and look at your hair from different vantage points. That crease will disappear from certain angles since you are likely not balding.
