I met this guy 4 years ago and he told me about transplants and that propecia works in front too. We talked to compare war stories, and disagreed on a lot.
I told he should use Nizoral, and he says that while it is good for the scalp, it eats away at the hair shaft and will make the hair thinner that way.
How is that possible (except for long hair) when studies show a 8% increase in shaft diameter?
He said he has a laser comb and that it feels good on the scalp.
That might be true, but my scalp feels fine, and I don't believe that thing grows hair.
I told him I plan to tan my scalp, and he said that is too much work and that I should not bother and that women care 10% as much as we do.
Yeah, it depends who they can choose between.
He told me avodart does not grow more hair than propecia, and that finasteride 0.2mg/day grows just as much hair as 1mg/day. His sexual side effects went away when he dropped down to 0.2mg/day. When he quit propecia a year ago, his scalp started hurting so much he had to get back on at the lower dose.
I think he is just bitter he can't handle the reduced DHT levels. So many big studies show that he is wrong. 0.2mg/day regrows 80% as much as 1mg/day. Not sure about the difference in maintainance, though.
He does not seem to believe most of the stuff I told him. He says he spent too many years worrying about his hair, and that as long as I have 40% density on top, that is good enough to 90% of women.
Yeah, if I make up for it with something else, like some muscle.
His final advice to me was to just get on Match.com. He says many people are on it and it worked for every guy he knows who tried it. He says the gym is not a good place to meet women.
I filled out a profile there, and was about to subscribe, but it says on there that non-paying members can't read any of the emails I send them unless they pay first. They are just informed that I emailed them, and don't know if I said "let's date" or "you seem like a nice person. I hope you find someone". I don't even know what percentage of members are paying members (probably less than half) and don't know which ones are if I email them. That said, I'd rather stick to myspace or hotornot.com.
He wants me to call him in a week and tell him how the online dating is going. Not sure what I'll say to him.
This guy is 35, drives a porche, and makes $50-75k/year. He says he did not get confident until he was 25, and only then did he start getting sex regularly. He says he now has a pretty girlfriend and thinks everyone should do match.com.
