My conversation with the guy who got me on propecia

I met this guy 4 years ago and he told me about transplants and that propecia works in front too. We talked to compare war stories, and disagreed on a lot.

I told he should use Nizoral, and he says that while it is good for the scalp, it eats away at the hair shaft and will make the hair thinner that way.
How is that possible (except for long hair) when studies show a 8% increase in shaft diameter?

He said he has a laser comb and that it feels good on the scalp.
That might be true, but my scalp feels fine, and I don't believe that thing grows hair.

I told him I plan to tan my scalp, and he said that is too much work and that I should not bother and that women care 10% as much as we do.
Yeah, it depends who they can choose between.

He told me avodart does not grow more hair than propecia, and that finasteride 0.2mg/day grows just as much hair as 1mg/day. His sexual side effects went away when he dropped down to 0.2mg/day. When he quit propecia a year ago, his scalp started hurting so much he had to get back on at the lower dose.
I think he is just bitter he can't handle the reduced DHT levels. So many big studies show that he is wrong. 0.2mg/day regrows 80% as much as 1mg/day. Not sure about the difference in maintainance, though.

He does not seem to believe most of the stuff I told him. He says he spent too many years worrying about his hair, and that as long as I have 40% density on top, that is good enough to 90% of women.
Yeah, if I make up for it with something else, like some muscle.

His final advice to me was to just get on Match.com. He says many people are on it and it worked for every guy he knows who tried it. He says the gym is not a good place to meet women.
I filled out a profile there, and was about to subscribe, but it says on there that non-paying members can't read any of the emails I send them unless they pay first. They are just informed that I emailed them, and don't know if I said "let's date" or "you seem like a nice person. I hope you find someone". I don't even know what percentage of members are paying members (probably less than half) and don't know which ones are if I email them. That said, I'd rather stick to myspace or hotornot.com.

He wants me to call him in a week and tell him how the online dating is going. Not sure what I'll say to him.

This guy is 35, drives a porche, and makes $50-75k/year. He says he did not get confident until he was 25, and only then did he start getting sex regularly. He says he now has a pretty girlfriend and thinks everyone should do match.com.

what guy drives a porche and makes only 50 - 75k a year, what did he do, live at his mom's house and not pay for any bills or food for a few years?

yeah, am familiar with the 40% density to 90% women rule too

the guy sounds like a total BS loser

Joke Reply: Does he live at home or does he drive a 1982 Porsche?

Serious: I have several friends who have met their wives online, including at Match.. it's very common now.

In his age range (mid-30s) or higher, match.com or similar would probably work better than myspace or similar, as myspace usage drops off pretty far up at that age.

In your age range, however, you might be better off sticking with myspace, as that's probably the more common choice among the younger crowd.

The crossover point at which the site would be roughly equal in effectiveness is probably somewhere in the late 20s.

Of course, as the sites work differently, you may find creating a match.com profile easier than the whole myspace/social networking thing. In which case, by all means go with match.com.

What a retard.....

How did his hair look like?

I bet the only reason why he gets women now is because of his Porsche and not his "40% density".

You have weird friends, CCS.

And I don´t think online dating is the way to go. There are mainly ugly women with fake profiles and the few good looking ones get emailed from tons of guys so you need to have a really good profile in order to be successful. Good Luck nevertheless!

His hair is very thin. NW5 with lots of grafts. Still thin. I saw the porche, but I have no idea what year it is. It looked nice, though. I don't know if he just rented it. He is a loan officer. When I saw it, he said he made over $100k. Now he says he's making $50-75k. He said his girlfriend is pretty, but did not specify how pretty. Yeah. And she picked him over a richer guy who made $300k because she got a long better with him. Hmmm... did the richer guy look worse, or did he not pay her as much or just lie about how much he made, or was she making the story up, or was he making the story up, or did the rich guy not show much interest in her which is why they did not seem to get along. I don't even care; I know I need to workout for now and get good grades and replace some bad clothes.

Match.com only works if the woman pays so she can read her email. Even if I pay, she can't read it unless she pays. I suspect most members are non-paying. So I think myspace is better. There are some freaks on myspace though, and I don't mean appearance. Lots of people with angry blogs telling how bad their ex was and what a rebel they are now. Funny. They take no responsibility for their own success.

Hey, I've tried match.com and it's alright. It absorbed the old Yahoo dating site. Loads of girls on there, usual range of looks. Predictably, the stock increases from late 20s, when people leave college, move home, find it harder to meet people and start thinking about the undesirability of long-term singledom (of course, they also start earning and consequently can actually afford to join dating sites!)

As for competition, well there's always gonna be competition for the best looking girls, whether in a bar, a club, online... that's life.

BTW 'The Economist', a news magazine I subscribe to, is hosting a debate on the "dating market". How's about applying economic theory to dating and relationships? Remember guys, scarcity creates value.

He sounds like helpme007. But helpme007 is a little further down the sewer, he finally snapped and had a nervous breakdown while CCS is more comfortable with his freaky nature.

i can definitely foresee a future news report involving a member of this forum and the reporter reading off some of his crazy ramblings from this forum.
