So I saw the Doctor today about getting some work done, perhaps to lower my hairline. No sooner than I sat down he points to the Norwood chart.."That's you right there son" I sat nervous, listening intently as his forefinger thumped on the Norwood Chart of Doom. Slowly, gazing upwards, I was surprised to see he was pointing to a Norwood 2. I sighed in disbelief as he said for a man of 42 years on this earth, it was no uncommon to be classified at that progression. I told him I thought I was a Norwood 3 and he said that my temples have not receded far enough near or at equal length/measurement to my ear lobe. Than he showed me photos and work hes done on Norwood 3. He examined my hairline and asked my what nationality I was. I told him Native American. He said I had the classic receding of Hispanic and Native American folks in that it tends to recede evenly and symmetrically backward as opposed to a pronounced inward recession. I told him I think its pronounced enough that I have to shave a bit off the front. Then he said its not that serious that I need to get graphs just yet and to give it a few more (I have to cuss) f*****g bitching hot damned years!!! WTF! Man I want a lower hairline! Then he examined my crown and cervex and said it was getting a bit thin and thought I should use propecia. I told him no. I need to study more on it first. Man I will be 45 by the time I get a hair transplant. By then who knows where I will be on the Norwood scale. My wife says she dont care how I look. I know I am not 25 or 30. My kids are grown and out of the house, and I want to treat myself and I have to wait a few more years. By then will I even give a sh*t anymore!

Well, we all know how much these docs really know about hair loss......

And it is really interesting that he noted how your hairline recession was typical for Indians after you told him you were one......

I hope he didn´t charge you too much.

Oh, and btw. you should start Finasteride indeed!

Doctors and Dermatologists know f-uck all about hairloss. Half the people on this board know twice as much about the reality of hairloss and about possible treatments. You should just goto a hair transplant surgeon like Armani and inquire about getting your temples filled in like this guy

Based on your current state of hairloss and your age I think you would be a perfect candidate for this kind of surgery and wouldnt need much more than 1500 grafts. Which will cost you about $15,000.

Good luck.
