Hi there!

Last week i made a blood-test, today the results arrived. I wanted to check my hormones.

I'm 19, 1,84 high and about 90 kilos. Taking finasteride since about 3 Months....

Iron: 144,0 (59-158)

C-reactive Protein: 0,1 (0,0-0,5)

Estradiol: 81,6 (11,6-51,2) *

Testosterone: 8,01 (2,4-8,27)

The problem is, i asked him to check my hormones, not directly test, est and dht -.-.

As you see, my estrogen lvl is double as high as it should be. Dunno if this before finasteride the same, because i haven't done any hormone-related blood-tests before...

Do i have to be afraid now about gyno & Co.? Did anyone have a bloodtest done and had similar results? I'm a bit unsecure right now...

Didnt have significant side effects under finasteride... (after 3 1/2 months), maybe a little testicle pain in the beginning... hair is still falling out...

finasteride is supposed to increase testosterone levels but decrease DHT levels. I don't know about the estrogen thing, I think it might be normal. As for gyno some people are more prone to it than others, you might be one of the lucky ones.

thx for the post!

Yeah i know that it should run this way, but who knows... im just afraid that gyno & co might occur after some time (just used finasteride for 3 1/2 Months) if the estrogen lvl stays that high or even rises...

my test results

1. S OEstradiol, normal range = 50-220, units = pmol/L
2. S Testosterone, normal range = 12.4-34.1, units = nmol/L

after using propecia for 4-months:
1. 155
2. 22

2-months after stopping:
1. 130
2. 24

1.25 years after stopping
1. 95
2. 18

My SHBG levels pretty much mimicked testosterone levels.

My S Progesterone was elevated during this time and exceeded normal levels (0.7-4.3 nmol/L) up to 5.34, but the docs tell me that's an unimportant hormone in males. In other words, they don't really know what it does to males.

The other change to my diet since dropping propecia is that I also stopped drinking about 1-2 cups of soy milk per day.

While on propecia, I did experience 'brain fog'. It wasn't transitory as I had hoped, so I eventually had to give it up.

I did also notice my nipples becoming more sensitive and slightly painful in a weird way. This is the first sign of the development of gyno.
