hey guys i have been training for a while now and i am starting to notice that my left is much stronger and defined. I have more muscle mass on my left back and chest which is starting to get out of hand. The weird thing is that im right handed, any suggestions on things i could do? Im thinking of starting pilates to help..

i should also add that my left side seems to be in constant pain.. starting from my neck down to my mid back, muscles ae tight and always sore. I know this is a result of muscle imbalance but i just dont know how to fix it

Do you use mostly free weights or machines?

Ps. A little asymetry is normal.

How about giving your left side a break. Watch it and try to relax it. Just work your right side for a while. For your right back, bend over a bench and hold your upper body up with your left arm, and row with your right arm. Give your right arm time to catch up, just working that side.

I only do one handed dumb bell curls. I start with my weaker arm, and then do the same number of sets with my strong arm even though I don't take it to failure. Now they are both equal. That is why it is important to mix it up like that so you catch this stuff early.

Yes that would have been my suggestion. I've read that profesional athletes tend to have better symetry than most people. But its supposedly something that you are born with. Many bodybuilders struggle with this as part of the judging process includes symetry.
