If I were really SERIOUS about keeping what I had for as long as possible..................I think Id do propecia, spironolactone twice a day applied with prox-N, use nizoral twice a week. Perhaps minoxidil once a night. Id subsititue soy milk for cow milk, take green tea extract. Id stay away from high glycemic index foods like white bread, excess sugars, pototoes.

This quote is from Michael Barry, a respected poster here on the forums. I dunno if he is just using guesswork here though.

Yes soy can produce the equol molecule but only in around 30% of the population. However, it does contain beta-sitosterol which can be a good thing. I do a soy/spirulina/vitamin/mineral/aminoacid shake in the morning, blended in soy milk. It's a fast easy way to get my essentials in for the day and the protein I need since I'm a vegetarian. I don't know how much it has benefitted my hair though.

ACTUALLY- cow milk contains progesteron, which later on turns in to DHT. And so i guess cow milk is bad for you in a WAY.

Progesterone was shown to regulate Estrogen and DHT. Progesterone is good.

"In continuing Dr. Klein’s passion for hair re-growth formulations that excel far beyond the competition, we are proud to announce the creation of Re-Mox IV. Re-Mox IV is a combination of Minoxidil, Tretinoin, Azelaic Acid, and Progesterone. Re-Mox IV available in both the 5% Minoxidil spray and 15% Minoxidil lotion formula. Progesterone is a hormone naturally produced by both men and women. During the aging process, When the level of progesterone falls in men and women, the conversion of testosterone into DHT increases dramatically. Progesterone is the chief inhibitor of an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase. Progesterone inhibits the body from converting testosterone to di-hydrotestosterone (DHT) by binding to 5 alpha reductase; 5-AR is the enzyme that converts human serum to testosterone, then into DHT, which is the compound thought to be responsible for damaging hair follicles and an important factor in hair loss."

very interesting information.

i remember there was a hairloss treatment in europe which used progesterone. for the life of me i cant remember its name, but will try to find it. had the same basic ingredients as Diane35 the birth control pill.

Damn straight, very interesting.

Well if what stax posted is serious data, why don't they utilise progesterone in the battle against hairloss?

Also if it was used, would it just have the same side effects as oral dht-inhibitors i wonder?

People do use Proegesterone against hairloss, topically, its in Re-Mox 4 lotion. Applying natural progesterone cream might help aswell. Progesterone topically worked minimal at best from this study i read.

Hmm well that might be because it functions like other 5-alpha reductase inhibitors like finasteride/dutasteride when used topically - only effective when absorbed systematically.

Can it be taken orally?

Ineresting. I DO NOT unerstand now why I found a IFNO on a ACNE site that said oterwise. it claimed that the proesteron which comes through a cow ( only if she is pregnet) into her milk. Then it turns into DHT , which makes the acne increase.
Strange
