Moustache on the back of my head ...

Hello all ... seeking advice ...

Sometimes I feel like God has truly cursed me. I have naturally dark hair. Started losing it in college and now I'd say the back half of my head is bald, while the front half could fake it, if you never saw me from behind.

I've experimented with shaving my head, and from the front, I love the look. I'm fortunate to have the right head shape. However, regardless of how closely I shave, the "band" of thick black hair on the back of my head, immediately below the bald part, shows a noticeable "shadow" even when there's no hair above the surface of the skin.

This is extremely frustrating, because this is the absolute thickest part of my hair (and all mens I guess), but it prevents me from really having a good shave. And all you have to do is glance at that "shadow" and you know exactly just how bald I am, what the pattern is, etc. It's like it's there, even when it's not.

I've seen this on others, so I know it's common. But does anybody have any advice? If I could really shave so the hair disappeared, I would almost like the skinhead look. But as it is, it just pisses me off. It's like I'm doubly cursed - can't grow enough hair to "have hair," yet the hair I've got is so dark it prevents me from shaving good enough to "be bald."

God mocks me. Any ideas?

If you really want to get the bald look, get that laser hair removal on your head.

It worked on my back, it should work on your head! :D

well i dont think the idea would be to fool people to think your not balding as much as to look clean and sharp with a nice shaven head. go as low as you can if you like the look, i think a 1 or 2 looks good too.

Use Nair -- works like a charm and helps minimize regrowth. Much cheaper than laser too although not as permanent.

I was actually considering bleaching my hair - with the hope that the bleech would leach a little into the hair underneath the skin, so that when I shaved, the under-skin hair wouldn't be so visible (dark) ... I seriously doubt this will work, but I'm willing to give it a try.

Previous poster was right - I'm not trying to fool anybody - I'm trying to shave completely, with no "shadow" implying where the bald line is. Think Kojak.
