Well, I quit finasteride about 6 weeks ago, and I had an up and down road after quitting. I couldn't get it up for a few nights around 4 weeks in, and that fit the PFS syndrome timeline which scared me to death. Some days I was so panicked and worked up thinking I was showing signs of post finasteride syndrome that I couldn't leave the house with taking a Xanax. Well, I know it's not newsworthy, nor really thread-worthy, to report morning erections, but I just had to friggin say it because I can barely contain my happiness right now. I think my body finally found its equilibrium with testosterone that it's been seeking in the weeks since I quit the drug. Morning erections, as most of you know are a great indicator of overall health as well as sexual health.

It just really puts into perspective what is important in life. Honestly, now the thought of going bald doesn't scare me anymore. It's going to happen, and probably going to be very bad within the next few years. I thought losing my hair would be one of the worst things imaginable in my life, but it in no way compares to the thought that I could've lost the use of my penis for who knows how long...maybe forever. I'll learn to adjust to life with less hair on my head, but I never could have adjusted to life without the proper use of my penis.

So please...PLEASE any of you new people, or even for the veterans, on here that might be reading this and considering using 5AR inhibitors like finasteride, while they are the most proven and effective hair loss medications on the market, you have to listen to the signs your body gives you while taking them. I ignored my lack of morning erections while taking the drug for nearly 7 months, and it nearly cost me more than you can ever know. How my body AND mind felt for a week and a half during Christmas was a feeling I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. The thought of being impotent is so much more horrific than being bald, that words cannot even describe it. So I implore any of you that are experiencing side effects early on to heed my advice. To those of you that are still using DHT inhibitors, I wish you all the best of luck, but my journey has come to its conclusion.

Before using finasteride and treating hair loss in general, I wouldn't get morning wood for many months in a row.

I was wondering what happened to you haha thought you quit and wouldn't put up a another update but I'm glad it's getting better for you.

I've been off it for about 3-ish weeks, sexual problems persisting. Gotta go back next week for the last blood test to confirm whether my liver was reacting badly to finasteride. I never heard of drugs damaging livers but the Doctor said your liver can have a bad reaction to any medication really. Hoping maybe I have another issue that can be resolved so i can keep taking finasteride but over the past 3 weeks i've slowly made progress with accepting my hairloss. I think buzzing my head had a lot to do with it.

I wish you well, Cincinnati Kid. Good luck.
