Matgallis just posted about scalp irritation recently and it brought up some questions I have of my own. I've been using minoxidil for about a month now and been responding pretty badly. My shedding and thinning have gotten considerably worse, which I had been attributing to either sh*t luck and the drug not working at all, or more optimistically a minoxidil-induced shed and sign it's working. That was until I started reading about the inflammation it seems to cause pretty commonly and the negative effects thereof. Just about as long as I've been on it I've noticed some flaking and itchiness exactly where I apply minoxidil on my temples which was especially conspicuous since I've never had anything remotely resembling a dandruff problem, and the flaking/irritation seems isolated to those spots. So my questions are, how counter-productive to minoxidil or any regimen is this inflammation? Also, I'm a pretty broke-*** college student and although I'm pretty sure I'll add nizoral to my regimen next time I'm at the store I have a feeling it won't help this inflammation and may well even make it worse given that I have a pretty sensitive scalp and from what I've read the stuff sounds strong, like keto-agent-orange. So assuming it won't work what's the most cost effective brand of copper peptides? And should Nizoral and a T/Gel or T/Sal shampoo help with flaking, would you recommend Copper Peptides for their merits in fighting hairloss alone? One more question, I'm new to hair loss so I haven't had a chance to peruse the hair loss shampoos but do they even sell T/Sal at most stores? I have a vague recollection of stocking T/Gel from back when I worked at a CVS but I don't remember ever seeing T/Sal there, or any other store shelves. Thanks.
