Atherosclerotic heart disease and a more than 3-fold incidence of
heart attacks seem to be associated with severe pattern loss. This suggests some co-variable. My favorite is that damage to the lining of the blood vessels, etc. decreases the amount of nitric oxide ( NO, as in miNOxidil ) the lining produces. NO has multiple messenger functions. Two of which seem to be 1) stimulating hair follicles and 2) keeping blood vessels open and
dialated.
