I went to this hair clinic, they advised me to start on their minoxidil and propecia for my hairloss. they said they will send me the medication and it will cost ONLY $190 Australian dollars! :freaked2: (equals abt $140 US dollars).
i am just wondering how much everyone else here spend per month on their hair treatment?? (pls indicate what treatment u uses too if possible! :D )

Prescritption for Proscar 5mg * 30 = $AU112 from national pharmacies (didn't order online, just walked into my local chemist).

Also thinking about adding 2% Nizoral 200ml for $22 from my local chemist.

So currently, around $30 a month. I'm not sure how much minoxidil would cost, but damn, that would probably triple my monthly cost

Howdy!

Yeah, I'm from South Australia. I didn't "just" walk into the chemist hehe, but got a prescription from a dermitologist. I went to my doctor first, who I asked about Finasteride (Proscar/Propecia) and he said "WHOA! I'm not sure about those exactly, but I know someone that would prescribe it. Ashley & Martin"

He then continued to say how they're shonky and just want your money, and refered me to a good derm. He prescribed me Proscar as it was cheaper, and the same thing.

We talked awhile about cutting up the Proscar tablets, and trying to take 1mg a day (Proscar tablets are 5mg), the possible side effects (which he totally brushed off with confidence) and also said that if you start Proscar, you may as well try minoxidil.

I'll hold off on the minoxidil tho as it's quiet expensive. Will see if I need it after a year (about to finish my first month taking proscar).

That's my story 8)

Good question but I can only give the info in sterling as I'm based in the UK.

1 mg Propecia tablets on prescription £36 per month
5% minoxidil (Regaine in UK) is £23 per month but I've been using once a day so half that.

So £47 per month. Don't know if thats any help? :)

Oh forgot Nizoral, 60ml container costs £6 which lasts about 6 months so not much cost there.

it cost about $65 per month for my perscription of propecia.

I was thinking about ordering procsar or at least generic propecia but my derm wont give me a prescription for proscar and i'm a little sketchy about ordering pills online... who knows if you'll get your order or what you'll really get.

drug store seems safer to me.

umm other than that. i use t-gel shampoo and nizoral occationally.. so not more than $70 total i'd say.

Propecia = expensive.
Get yourself over to someone like http://www.qhi.co.uk who sell Proscar. That contains 5mg of Finasteride - the active drug in Propecia - and so can be quartered for your daily dose. A pack of 28 (hence almost 4 months worth) is about 30 quid, excluding p&p.

My Dutasteride (genuine stuff) and minoxidil comes to £45 per month, approx. $80 if you prefer.
