month 8 propecia:Is this a shed or male pattern baldness continuing?

Started propecia in Sep,8mnths later and im really freaking out.Didnt really have any shedding and it had seemed to have stabilised,nothing was happening(not a bad thing).

Now i find the whole front of my hair has thinned,and my temples have def receeded further and theres also thining behind them

The question is:is this a propecia shed?or is the propecia not working?!!

Your rate of hair fall will accelerate and decelerate at times, whether you are taking treatments or not. Either way, you will have/retain more hair if you are on finasteride than not so don't worry about it too much.

Same here, I'm on about month 8 and I've noticed thinning for the last few months more than before I started finasteride.

But so many people seem to experience the same thing..

Let's ride it out and stay positive!

CHill out, wait for the full year to finish, then you should know for sure. I'm at month 15+ and i remember the shaky first year quite well. Lots of ups and downs, ride it out.

Same here. 7.5 months on Propecia and I am definitely experiencing an increase in shedding. Nothing to do but wait it out I guess. I'm tempted to started minoxidil but something is telling me to hold off for now.

Anyone else out there go thru this at month 7 & 8 and live to tell about it?

hi there, those who hav e doubts about propecia working or not....one way to find out i s if u have vertex balding......if its wrking at the expected time, your vertex should be filling up faster than yr frontal..

I can confirm what chewie said:

10 months on propecia now, vertec filled up nicely, frontal looks a bit worse than before.
SInce month 9, losing more hairs (~100 when showering, no visible hairloss during the day&night, 3-4 hairs on my pillow every nite).

So it seems to work for me, let's hope my front will be fine asap.
