Minoxidil - Younger Hair, Older Face

Hi everyone,
I've been dealing with hairloss since I was 18, yea, and now I'm 26 and have used probably every product that ever existed, (Can't handle finasteride/dutasteride. tried a few times) But the best one was without a doubt minoxidil.
It has made my hair insanely fuller, to a degree that sometimes I thought my hair looks better than in my teen years.
The only problem was my face, it affected it, also insanely. I mean it's not something that people see but I can clearly see it and I'm not imagining it, I'm 26 with some little wrinkles mainly in the eyes area and my skin color has changed a bit too, like I'm in my 30's.
My parents looked like teenagers until they were 50, so no it's not in the genes.

I started using minoxidil in 2011 and stopped in 2014 (because of the face) for a year, but after I almost became bald I started it again and the hair grew back in an instant, with my face, that also grew (up).
So...I wondered if there's anything that can be done to "counter" that, even though probably the only thing that can be done is to stop using it, which will lead to thinner hair again and me being bald, and then I'll look like I'm in my 40's anyway.
I thought about retin-a and maybe dermarolling or something, but still..don't think it's gonna help really.

So if anyone here has faced (yea) the same problem and actually had a real something to do about it, I would be really happy to hear.

Thanks.

How long have you tried duta and fina? Minoxidil cause you dark circle or wrinkles ?

Well when I stopped I didn't really see a difference in my wrinkle status. but it was not bloated anymore, that's for sure.
Until I started using it (20 years old) I looked like 13, I'm tall but my face was even too young, then everything changed.
No dark circles, only little wrinkles.

Hey longway, when you used Minoxidil what was the dose did you use 1x or 2x a day?

All this years with Minoxidil your hair was maintaining/improving?

Its a complex issue because minoxidil really can do wonders for some people, but seems to impact the area under the eyes and foreheard..Im thinking about getting back on Foam myself...My theory was to use a product like Biosil (also, good for hair) that stimulates collagen production and along with using Foam no more than once per day...Maybe even taking weekends off...

I think people have this sides because abuse the recommended dose.

For me, minoxidil user only need 1ml 1x day then 2ml 2x day.

Because from a saw if you use 1x a day and doesn't work, you don't expect increase the dose helps.

Btw you left the hairlosshelp forum :p

I agree and when I visited a derm he recommended Minoxidil before bed..Im sure over using the product leads to some of the sides...Also, agree that if it works for you 1x per day will be nearly as good as 2x per day..Infact, Im pretty sure there is a study supporting this..And yes, hairlosshelp has pretty low participation so there really is little to no point posting there anymore...

Well the first 3 years I used it 2 times a day, (before I stopped for a year) and now I use it 1 time per day 5 times a week,
and it's more than enough.
I guess when minoxidil works wonders for someone, you get the whole package, face included.
I know for a fact that most people don't get the results I had for years only from minoxidil, I had long curly hair
and my friends called me Jim Morrison.
Sadly I think that the only thing that can really "remove" the face thing is to completely stop minoxidil. Not that I'm gonna do it anytime soon.
I've never heard about Biosil but it sounds interesting, just checked their website.
And yea, hairlosshelp is dead, too bad.

I don't think minoxidil ages your face as surely it would do the opposite? Its a stimulant that dilates your blood vessels and promotes blood flow among other things, so surely this would be good with respect to skin health? Without a doubt i have gotten the facial bloating (ive been applying for almost 2 years) but in a sense this makes me look more youthful with a fuller face. Does you face get exposed to sunlight often as this could explain your wrinkles.

Also even if minoxidil aged our faces, im pretty sure i would prefer to get a few wrinkles as oppose to losing my hair as being bald makes you look a lot older then just a few wrinkles. Worthwhile trade off IMO haha

Exactly. I look like crap without hair, but with hair I somehow look like a model. (Never understood how it was possible)
And I'm talking about the last 5 years when I was at least NW2, I can't even imagine how I'd look with my 16's hair.

I quit using minoxidil after 6 months, been only a week and the dark circles and puffiness are already gone.
