Hello,
I wanted to post and give something back.
I’m 37, my hair has slowly been thinning mostly through my thirties. I’ve always had a big head and big forehead with a widows peak even as a baby. Recent years my hairline started to retreat and my vertex thinning. I’m a little bit vein so it started to bother me.
I was newly single October last year and my hair was looking bad as it has been (always does at that time of year). I decided to do something about it. I booked in to have a 3000 graft hair transplant with Koray Erdogan.
I had the op in November. The procedure was flawless. They treat you so well. Because of my massive head I needed a lot of grafts for coverage but on the plus side he said I had over 10k donor graft potential.
So he put 3k grafts into my front and temples. He allowed me to keep my widows peak after initially drawing a rounded hairline - it just wouldn’t look like me without the peak.
I didn’t have the time to fill in vertex bald spot unfortunately. But at the same time I decided to start a rogaine and microneedling regime to try and fix the rest of my thinning scalp.
I wasn’t confident but was worth a go - I got the hairline shape I always wanted I wanted to thicken the rest. The hair transplant transplant moved my hairline about a 1cm down from where it was previously. But starting from the original point of peak.
I started with weekly 1.5mm microneedling and 1ml Kirkland 5% twice daily.
Results.
After three months my hair transplant hair started coming in nice but I also noticed difference in the rest of my head. Fuelled by this I decided to microneedle daily with a Derma stamp and apply more minoxidil.
I’m now on month 9 since I started. Have been daily stamping my hair lots and I apply loads of MIN to my whole scalp. I use about 3-4ml of 5 %. I do this only once a day in evening now.
Results have been awesome! My hair is thicker than it has been ever! It’s darker also people have been saying I’ve dyed my hair but I haven’t. I’ve got villus hair growing in front of my temple hair line which really softens the hair transplant hair which is thick. Leaving it looking more natural.
Daily I’ve had min dripping down my forehead. NO SIGN OF WRINKLES AT ALL. My skin looks great for a 37 year old.
I would like to say the daily microneedling I feel is critical to my success. I’ve had no negative side effects whatsoever from this regime.
My hair seems to fall out more than it ever has. Plenty on my hands in the shower. Despite this my hair is ridiculously thick.
My only regret is I didn’t do this years ago. Don’t delay get on a microneedling and rogaine regime.
Pure speculation but I think the derma stamping allows the min to absorb. If I stop stamping my hair doesn’t feel as wired or thick almost instantly. It’s almost like there is less blood flow and so quickly the hair looses its strength.
I love the feeling of my scalp pulsing after alot of stamping and applying min. I imagine all the blood and nutrients getting to the follicules. Weirdly I seem to of grown more prominent veins on my temples almost as if my body has adapted to provide more blood to my scalp.
Here’s some pics. Sorry about poor quality.
