Minoxidil Sides Alternative regime?

Hi guys

I have been using Minoxidil for a number of years to help maintain my hair. So far i'm Norwood 2-2.5 but it is thinning out all over. I had been using generic minoxidil solution 15% before bed.

I searched puffy face and saw the link to minoxidil sides on this site and thank god I did. I have bad skin, i'm getting wrinkles on my forehead and I have a fat face. I also feel tense a lot and have a resting heart rate of 85 which is a bit high for a otherwise fit 29 year old.

I think i have been making every mistake possible! I normally apply the solution after a shower before bed so apply it to wet hair and it normally is all over my pillow in the morning so is getting on my face.

I'm going to be binning the 15% I have and adopting the following regime:

Revivogen x 1 daily in evening
Tricomin spray x 2 daily morning and evening.
Regaine 5% foam half dose on thin areas in morning on dry hair.
Nizoral 2% shampoo 3 times weekly
Tricomin shampoo on other days.

How does this look for an alternative regime?

Regarding the minoxidil switch, yes I believe you should be fine switching to foam.

Arguably Tricomin and Revivogen are a waste of cash as there is little to no proof, even anecdotal that they do anything.

Be aware that if you want to stop the fundamental balding process you need an effective androgen inhibitor like finasteride.

Thanks for the reply.

I thought Revivogen has clincial studies showing a 90% blocking of DHT in the follicles?

I know tricomin gets mixed reviews but I have used the shampoo and think it does help keep my hair thick and copper peptides have been proven to stimulate growth. Whether tricomin as a product contain enough copper peptide is debateable I know.

I'm just not keen on finasteride as the total loss of sexual function risk however small is just not worth it. What's the point in having nice hair if you can't get it up! I would rather be a bald stud than an asexual guy with nice hair.

MJUK , Can I ask ???

Do you have a side efecct as a puffy face, bad skin, getting wrinkless on forehad. Do you have a faster grow up hair on the chin (beard).

I remark faster grow up hair on the beard, and other thing (side efecct) I dont remark but I read for side efecct which you tell.

I ask which therapy does you use without finastered and minoxidil.

and How many time does hairs fall without minoxidil (I think on hairs which grow up before of minoxidil)

Have you considered RU ?

I don't know much about RU Rich appart from you have to make it yourself. What's the deal? Is it a DHT blocker?

I don't know about faster growth on my chin. I obviously have facial hair but whether minoxidil causes it to grow faster I can't say.

My side effects are fat face (despite being relatively lean (currently 16% BF)), bad skin esspecially my forehead which is covered in small 'whitehead' spots and is uneven. I also have a couple of wrinkles and often feel tense. I did not use my minoxidil last night and I feel better already. My skin also looks better and my face not so fat.

I have only being using minoxidil and tricomin shampoo since I started noticing my hairline weakening maybe 5 years ago. I had been using normal rogaine before but swiched to generic 15% Duel Gen a year or so ago. I don't have much hair failing out but it just gets thinner during each growth phase it seems. I'm currently a Norwood level 2 heading towards 2.5.

If you are having similar side effects of minoxidil I would recommend you reduce your dose and add some alternative growth agents to your regime.

How many times do you apply the minoxidil 5%. If I decrease appling the dose on one time a day, I should have a results, bit dont have sied effect.

I was using a 15% formula often on wet hair and before bed which i think was the problem as I was going to bed and getting it all over my pillow and face resulting in more absorption into my system.

5% minoxidil should be fine if you mix in an anti-androgen and nizoral 2/3 times a week.

I plan on using the 5% foam in the morning on dry hair before styling. Hopefully this will stop the side effects.

Just an update.

Two days of no minoxidil and sides are weakening further. My face looks less bloated and I feel calm and relaxed all day. No tension at all.
