How long until the maximum amount of hair regrowth-not maintenance-comes from minoxidil? 1-2 years??

Peak counts in studies were between 4-7 months believe it or not.

Then showing maintenance for 2 years on on average before starting to towards baseline and eventually below.

Hey Rhinstone and K9,
Are there any studies where after reaching plateau, they increased minoxidil concentration? I ask this, because I do believe 5% has allowed me to maintain, but have increased to 15% recently...

None above 5% that I know of.

I do believe minoxidil is far more effective at maintaining than the propecia pushers will tell you. (I'm on Propecia, so don't bother telling me finasteride or bald.)

It kept my uncles hair for 8 years.

People saying it doesn't affect the fundamental balding process are erroneous. DHT isn't the only factor in balding, that's a fact. It grows hair, thus it obviously affects the process to some degree.

Too many people don't use it twice a day consistently, or get off because of a shed etc, it actually works pretty darn well. Comparing studies with finasteride it's not much different, finasteride is certainly easier to take though.

if you aren't obsessed with your hair like me I would stay off finasteride as long as possible, maybe avoiding it with future treatment ps if we're lucky. I take it myself and don't have bad sides but messing with hormones for hair is a ****ty situation.

Yeah, I was on finasteride for a year. Seriously, seriously f*cked my hair like I was going to chemo or something. I have to stay away from it.
