Does anybody have an idea about the long-term effectiveness minoxidil is at the very least maintaining your hair?? (if you are a responder of course)

same question with propecia?

somebody said minoxidil was only good for 1-2 years, but hasn't there been people like Brucelee and others maintaining their hair for a very long time (10 + years) on topical treatments and such...

if anybody has any thoughts feel free to share them, I am also curious about what you guys think about the long-term effectiveness of spironolactone at maintaining the hair you have.

thanks!

There is a question like this posted every day. Newbies, please read the FAQ's before posting. And regarding this question, scroll down several posts and you will find one titled "For how long is propecia and minoxidil effective??" It has got some good info. And if you look at about 1 ever 20 posts there is the same question posted slightly differently. Good luck.

We should to establish numbers for frequently asked questions, such as:

1) Help, my hair is starting to shed! I have been on <insert product here> for two months and I think it is ruining my hairline. Should I stop?

2) I am seeing little tiny hairs in my temples. Does this mean I am responding to minoxidil?

3) How long does it take finasteride to work?

4) I am seeing lots of hair in my shower drain. Does this mean I am going to go bald?

5) I have been on minoxidil for two weeks, and now my head is red and itchy. What should I do?

6) Will finasteride make my penis soft/smaller/shrivel/explode, etc.?

7) Where can I buy finasteride online?

etc, etc...

That way, instead of actually having to type out the whole question, these people can just type in "I am asking question number 5" and then wait for the responses.

Gardener: The funny thing is a process like that would actually work quite well. It seems like everyone thinks that propecia has broken both their penis and every subsequent generation of theirs to come. Question six would be a hit.

Not only that, but along with the numbered questions, we could have numbered replies. It would save everybody a LOT of extra typing.

It would work something like this...

"Hi, I'm Freddie from Tacoma, and I'm asking question number 6. Thanks!"

REPLY:
"Welcome to the boards Freddie. Reply number 6."

REPLY:
"Thanks, Gardener! Just what I wanted to know!"

I just think it would be an exponential improvement in efficiency.
