Sorry I gotta be this guy.

In the last 6 months my hair has begun to shed pretty hard, it is still some what early still I believe. I've noticed thinning for the last 4 years but 6 months ago started getting the aggressive itch on my scalp like all the time . I posted pics below. Right now I have 3 months worth of Rogaine Foam and 3 months worth of finasteride 1 mg haven't maned up and decided which one to do. But I started getting scared sh*tless of finasteride due to the crazy sides people get after quitting and stuff(I'm cool with being shaved, so losing my hards is not acceptable to me), I also had a really bad drug (uppers) problem about 6 years ago for about 4 years(clean and loving life now) so I don't know if this makes my hormones weaker and finasteride would likely jack me up idk. So I'm kinda stuck at deciding which one to start. Please give suggestions and first hand knowledge.

Minoxidil questions
1. Could it by itself keep my hair for a couple years?
2. Are there people how get results applying once daily instead of twice?
3. Solution contains alcohol I live in sub zero temperatures and have to wear a beanie when leaving my house will this cause issues? Dry scalp? Anyone have experience with min and this issue? Its so cold when you go outside with damp hair it freezes instantly.
4. How badly are you affected if you miss a whole day or just one application?
5. I have naturally really thin hair already will this stuff make my hair lay flat?
6. Whats the most common side effect of min?
7. Does it jack with everyone's skin in a bad way?

I think you need to hair transplant ıf your donor area is available..And after hair transplant you have to use finasteride for lifelong..

So it's to the point finasteride by itself or minoxidil by itself is useless? If so I don't want to risk sides and would rather just say f it and move on.

Finasteride could give you your hair back if you give it time, or atleast maintain what you have now. I would not recommend minoxidil alone with so aggressive hairloss. You would just put yourself through a whole lot of shedding and later get some of you hair back for a few years while the hair minituarization continues underneath. And thats just the best scenario.

1. A couple years would be the max minoxidil alone will be able to do.
2. Yes, twice a day is more effective though, not by a huge amount.
4. One application missed is not a big deal. Miss a week though, youll be feeling the pain when your hair starts falling out 2 months later.
3 & 5 can be solved by only applying once daily at night
6. There are no common side effects
7. no

I only recommend minoxidil in combo with finasteride.

Finasteride is a first resort not a last resort. minoxidil is best used as a complement to finasteride's maintenance abilities
