Minoxidil or finasteride causing this?!..

I used minoxidil liquid formula and finasteride for a year and at exactly the one year mark, I experienced a crazy shed accompanied by scalp pain near and behind my hairline. I had to stop using minoxidil because it was stinging my hairline. Doctor thinks minoxidil irritated my scalp after prolonged use and caused it, but during my shed and after being off minoxidil for two months, my scalp became oily and I started to get pimples (mild folliculitis) along my hairline. He says to keep using finasteride and completely cut out minoxidil.

What do you guys think of this? Or have any experienced minoxidil doing this to you?

Can you clarify your question? I understand the basis of what you're saying, I'm just trying to figure out how to give you a good answer.

Hey, sorry. My question is basically, do you think finasteride caused my scalp pain/oiliness and shedding or minoxidil? My derm suggested that I now have sebborheic dermatitis even though my scalp was clear (besides pimples). I've NEVER had this before in my life and for 23yrs old, I never get a single pimple even on my face up until now. I just don't know if this was hormonal and I should quit finasteride or if minoxidil caused it.
