Ok, So I've applied my %5 Minoxidil foam on the temples area for years to combat the receeding hair line. The directions say it won't help in that area, and even not to use it on the temples,.. but many of us still use it on the temples and some claim to have seen improvements.

So why are minoxidil users not supposed to use it on the temples??? Is there a concern it will wreck your hair or cause sides or is it just ineffective?

Confused!

It's because clinical trials were only performed on the crown and thus they can only claim it works there only.

That's kind of what I was guessing. But the instructions also indicate do NOT use rogaine where you are not experienceing thinning. I have no idea why it says that,..bc IMO for my case I know that sooner or later I'll get the bald spot in the back to accompany the receeding temples..I.E. - > I'm an Norwood 2 now, predisposed to the Norwood 3V pattern in the not too distant future.
Ergo-> Thought experiment:Why not just put the Minoxidil %5 foam where you know the thinning is about to happen to prevent it in the first place.

well, I know for sure that many people who use Minoxidil apply it to anywhere they want, not just thinning/balding area. My guess is that they don't want to be held responsible for complaints like 'I was proactive and applied it all over my scalp including non balding areas and my hair is now thinning' or something like that. who knows what ? cheers

I just started applying minoxidil on the temples 4 days ago (I have 3 months of treatment on the rest of th scalp) and I wonder whether it might be dangerous, because there are a lot of veins there and the skin is really thin and it could end in your bloodstream.
