Minoxidil Newbie Questions

I was on Proscar for about 3 years and after sexual side-effects decided to finally hang it up. But before I quit I got on minoxidil 6% (Hair transplant doctor's own formula) for about a year and gradually reduced the Proscar over a 2 month period until I was completely off.

Now I'm only on Minoxidil and was looking for a way of maximizing it's effects.

1. Do I spread it over even areas that don't have hair-loss? I usually do, even on my temples, a generous amount.

2. Is there another topical solution/vitamin/pill(other than Proscar similar ones) that could help with my Mino?

3. I use it once a day, is there scientific proof that using it twice increases effectiveness and if so how much % wise?

4. Sometimes I miss it about 2/3 times a month, is that a problem?

5. Does it work on eye-brows?

6. How many hours does it have to stay on before I can wash it off and it not lose it's desired benefits?

7. What's the ideal time to put it on, before going to bed or in the morning?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I guess even hair-loss prevention applies as well. Would appreciate any help with these questions!

1- hard to say, most people just use it where they have a thinning hair.
2- prox-n , some use tricomin/folligen, some of the well read users swear by prox-n. I would add nizoral shampoo to. Maybe keto foam if you really want to kick it up, but guess the shampoo is the easiest. Dr jerry cooley push keto foam on his patients that cant use finasterid.
3- twice is slightly more effective than once a day in studies. how much, i can't remember. the studies was on 2%, so I guess the difference is even smaller with 5%. remember that you are going to use this for years, do it the way you can manage.
4- people have stopped for a week just to let their scalp breath, and it have turned out okey. it is the long term effect that is the important one.
5- could work
6- 2-4 hours, I think it says 3 hours on the rogaine package.
7- if you put it on when your scalp is wet, the minoxidil gets better absorbed, probably by x2. I think it would be best to put it on before going to bed so you dont get that bad smell when your out with people. the right answer is what ever is most convenient for you.

2. I also use Nizoral Shampoo about 3 times a week. Is this enough, what's the ideal usage per week to get the best effect?

2-3times a week is good, but let it soak on your scalp for about 5min so it's absorbed in the dermis, not more than 10min.
